Men are not wearing enough hats!
The Meaning of Life ^

- CHAIRMAN:
- ...Which brings us once again to the urgent realization of just how much there is still left to own. Item six on the agenda: the meaning of life. Now, uh, Harry, you've had some thoughts on this.
- HARRY:
- That's right. Yeah, I've had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and, uh, what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: people are not wearing enough hats. Two: matter is energy. In the universe, there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this soul does not exist ab initio, as orthodox Christianity teaches. It has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved, owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.
- [pause]
- BERT:
- What was that about hats, again?
- HARRY:
- Oh, uh, people aren't wearing enough.
- CHAIRMAN:
- Is this true?
- EDMUND:
- Certainly. Hat sales have increased, but not pari passu, as our research initially--
- BERT:
- But when you say 'enough', enough for what purpose?
- GUNTHER:
- Can I just ask, with reference to your second point, when you say souls don't develop because people become distracted,...
- [rumble]
- ...has anyone noticed that building there before?

My head is naked, and will stay naked (except for the nice soft fur on top, which I lick clean every day)

To: Argh
You didn't wear this one?
To: Chad Fairbanks
(except for the nice soft fur on top, which I lick clean every day) Powerfully weird Chad!

I wear a hat, usually a brown felt fedora, called a Trilby. They really do keep your head warm, and also make going without an umbrella much easier, as well.
To: habs4ever
Brown felt fedoras are very classy habs...
Picture?

I think men should wear more hats.Entirely the fault of John F. Kennedy.
Until 1960, not even winos would go outdoors without a hat on. Most companies had dress codes that required a hat with coat and tie. Then JFK went to his inauguration hatless so he wouldn't muss his hair and within a year, hats were passe.

Is that the truth...
But Jackie O was so good for hats in women, yet women no longer wear hats either!

That's old morals. I'm not down with that ancient hullabaloo. I wear my hat EVERYWHERE but church.

Perhaps it is just the style of hat...
Maybe if you tried this one!
To: Argh
Virtual or not... the hat makes the man!

I am looking more for men in sexy hats kevin. Sorry, the last hat I wore on a regular basis was steel, with a camouflage cover. Although I have a GI boonie hat for bright summer days when I'm outdoors a lot. Gotta protect against heat prostration.

That's old morals. I'm not down with that ancient hullabaloo. Nope. Nothing moral or ammoral about it. It's simply good manners.
Take your hat off inside (unless it's part of a uniform or a safety/hard hat issue...)
Take your hat off when the National Anthem is played (many of the same who wear their ball caps in restaurants do not take them off for the Star Spangled Banner.)
Take your hat off when the flag passes by.
It's a matter of manners. Something America could use a lot more of these days.

Corin! - I am trying to encourage the wearing of hats here! - We can worry about the indoor/outdoor thing later!
To: HairOfTheDog
We can worry about the indoor/outdoor thing later! Not in my household (which this isn't, so carry on...)
