In a related issue, the President has ordered the military to receive smallpox innoculations, and the shots will be made available to the American public for anyone who wants them.

Had power this morning! Yippee! Had three separate outages yesterday, each between 1 and 1 1/2 hours. The last coming in the evening. The morning commute was treacherous - a lot of water had refrozen over the evening, so it was very slow going.

North Korea has announced they will bring back on line an old-style nuclear reactor they had planned on decommissioning. Their reasoning is the plant is necessary because the United States has suspended oil shipments.

China, meanwhile, is expected to try and urge her neighbor (North Korea) to adopt a "different behavior."

A report shows that up to 70% of '911' calls placed from cell phones were in error. One of the leading causes is programming '911' as a speed dial number.

Afternoon, all! Just finishing up the details for our Christmas party tomorrow. I called and asked for some help in setting up tomorrow, the chronic complainer has a dr's appointment till noon, so can't help. So her contribution to the party was to whine until she got what she wanted. But as I was walking out from work last night, one of the men walked out with me. He is going to call Krispy Kreme and see if we can buy 20 or so donut boxes from them. Tomorrow morning we will run around to most people's offices, give them the donut box, and ask them to bring their desserts in the donut boxes. I had second thoughts about doing this until I received her snotty email back...

Yes, Jimmy Carter will agree with other nations about our handling of the iraqi papers. He is the same fellow who will let the Panama Canal end up in the eventual control of the chinese. He should have asked for an extension on the lease we had, but he didn't. I do not understand the cravings he seems to have regarding his name before the public, like someone else we know.

Liberals criticize Lott's remarks, for which he has apologized.

But what about Dan Rather? What about Mike Wallace?

In July, 2001, when commenting on having to report the Gary Conditit story:

Rather said on air, "What happened was they [CBS management] got the willies, they got the Buckwheats. Their knees wobbled and we gave it up."

Or what about Mike Wallace saying that blacks and Hispanics had difficulty filling out loan applications, [because] according to Wallace, they were simply too busy "eating watermelons and tacos" to learn how to read and write.

#65, it is the soreness in the legs, not hurting like hurt hurt. He checks my circulation every 3 months, he took the vains out of my right leg when I had my bypass and he really check that one. Better believe I am carefull.
