AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 685) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 6, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/06/2002 4:50:00 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks in New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Now, the cleanup. More than 1.5 million people remain without electricity in North Carolina this morning.

Algore visited China recently, and it is believed he was paid to speak at a communist government-linked think tank. People could pay 50,000 yuan to get their picture taken with Algore, or 100,000 yuan to buy conference sponsorship packages.

Algore claims he was paid by BusinessWeek to attend the event: "I can tell you specifically our contract says DnmStrategies for BusinessWeek," says Jano Cabrera, spokesman for Algore, as reported by Drudge.

Drudge also reports that Nancy Sheed, spokeswoman for BusinessWeek, says: "This was not an official BusinessWeek-sponsored event. We did not pay any of the participants in the event. We did not pay any of the speakers at the event. BusinessWeek was also not aware that anybody had been invited on behalf of BusinessWeek to speak at the event."

Algore also attended an informal lunch on November 18 with approximately 30 members of the Asia society, sponsored by Hong Kong chairman Mr. Chan. Chan was an independent director of ENRON. Algore knew of Chan's relationship with ENRON because a source said he "told him before we went into the lunch."

Algore may be the master of reinvention, but he does not seem to have reinvented his pechant for Chinese money.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Yes, please ABG, all I know about the sugar story, is a little blurb I heard on Rush today, in which a most repulsive Carville quote was aired. But if Rush explained the significance, I missed it!

Here is another one of the media's clues sent out in media-ese.
MSNBC site has the following headline

Democrat Mary Landrieu fighting to hold on to her Senate seat

You will recall the press said that McKinney gal in Georgia was "in the fight of her political career."

When a Democrat is in the "Fight of their political career" it means a double digit loss.

When a Democratic is only "Figthing to to hold their seat" it means a loss greater than margin of error but less than 10 points.

This smells like victory similar to Dole in North Carolina or party polls are lying to NBC.

The story was that the bush administration was going to lower tariffs on Mexican suggar and that would hurt Louisiana Sugar Cane farmers.

I havn't checked it out so I don't know the details.

I'll have to take a picture of all of the stuff I load into the truck tomorrow morning.

Typically, I went overboard. I was going to say that I was taking everything except the kitchen sink, but the Coleman(tm) camp kitchen that I am taking has a sink. LOL!

I really enjoy doing this. Temps tomorrow are supposed to be in the 30s. I'm going to freeze my tail off, since I'll be doing most of my cooking outside. Oh, well. The Commander respects an effort with heart.

Oh, I will. And no, mom is a strict believer in the "He'll figure it out quicker if he gets the consequence" school of thought. Grin!

I'll try to take lots of pictures. And maybe even post a few.

The sugar tariff story is a fabrication. The Bush administration apparently has been pressured by Mexico, but they haven't done anything, nor are they (according to administration sources) considering it.

Of course this was reported by Carl Cameron, who went on to say how voter turnout might be affected by the start of hunting season and the LSU game in Atlanta. Tony Snow gleefully informed him that LSU lost last week and would not be going to Atlanta. Oops!

Put on your thinking caps for this one.

I'm helping my mother come up with a puzzle for their Sunday School party tomorrow night. These are a few of the clues, the answers to which are all names of towns or cities in Tennessee.

1. Ancient city in North Africa
2. Unused harbor
3. Beneficent coil
4. Get on a horse, lover of Romeo
5. Grumpy little town
Bonus: Neither a hit song for Barry Manilow

I think Memphis is #1. Other than that, I will have to get out the atlas, as I only know about 4 towns in Tennessee.

Memphis is a great guess, but the answer to another clue. Think west of Egypt.

I also don't know that many towns in Tennessee, having just lived here for 5 months, but I guess you are at a disadvantage. Yes, an atlas might be helpful.

Sorry, the clue for Memphis is not in that small sample I gave.

I hope that someone gets the bonus question. It's a place name we've all heard, not just the name of a place in Tennessee.

Yes, Mount Juliet is correct.

One of your clues above (are they clues or guesses?) is the same as one of mine, I think.
