Good Morning from sunny Floridaland :)
Guennie hates to sound 'braggity'....especially reading how some of you are not enjoying the ....sssss.....SNOW!!!
It's gonna be in the balmy 80's here today :)
....was just on the screened porch watching the tropical bird critters & the palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze.....(oldngray, don't you miss this!!)
Guennie is not trying to be meanspirited!!....
..just giving y'all a weather update from MY perspective :^)
Actually, I would love to see snow.......just a little, mind you.
Chicago's frozen tundra requiring Guennie to wear layers & layers of hot wool and mufflers and gloves and thermal thingies....was enough to last a looooong time :)
Oldngray!!!...hello friend!!
BTW, I'm just kidding with ya folks...
Christmas doesn't really seem Christmacy when it's hot & sticky & humid!!
Lysie's picture was picturesque :)
...a veritable winter wonderland!!!!!,
Cozy!!!
That's what Christmas should look like!!!!

Yes, absentee voting began last week. The fact that LSU won't be playing in the SEC championship(thanks to the secondary forgetting how to play pass defense against Arkansas) on Saturday also helps Terrell, because a lot of those people who were making plans to go to Atlanta will be headed to the polls instead.

Morning, Guennie. If we could just figure some way to keep the snow in backyards and not on roads and sidewalks..we could bottle and make a million. :-)

I'm looking forward to choir practice tonight :)
We're not doing a cantata exactly......it's more of a Christmas program....
..complete with adult choir AND children's choir...AND scenery & video and the whole nine yards.
The theme is....Shine the Light at Christmas...
It starts out sounding very much like a Disney Christmas show, but soon straightens out to be very traditional.....
..really pretty music....very uplifting!
I'm an alto!

Where I've always pictured you as being doesn't sound like any place that would be in the 70's today :^

Friday afternoon we're having a Christmas party here. I've offered to do some Christmas songs on dulcimer and harmonica, but haven't heard yet if that's something they want.
One teacher here has been working with a group of students for a few weeks now, teaching them Christmas songs and readings. They've shown a lot of improvement and I'm looking forward to their performance.

Kansas was the coldest place I've been (on the ground - I don't include flying in weather conditions). I recall one morning when it was -15 with 70 mile an hour winds. I woke up to find the reason it was so dry was because there was ice on the WALLS of the room I was in (And nearly two inches on the windows). OTOH, getting an inch and a half of freezing rain is prtty neat if you don't have to get in your car. A field of unmowed grass with an inch of ice around each stalk is pretty amazing stuff to go kicking through.

You guys back east stay safe and warm. That's tough. Current conditions - heavy snow, visibility about 1/2 mile, light N wind, 27 degrees.

Is it my imagination or are lots of Freepers knocked offline due to weather up north? Seems awfully quiet around here.....

You say postcard, Guennie??? How about this? Sarah took this last weekend. The sled she made from a shopping cart hubby found in the canal. These will be our Christmas cards this year.
