AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 682) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 3, 2002 | All of Us

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Weather discussion: A strong ridge of HP is building southward into CONUS which will bring very cold temperatures deep into the eastern half of the Nation, possibly as far south as the Gulf coast states. Temperatures in locations removed from the coast will likely be in the teens and single digits. Only along the immediate coastline will temperatures likely remain near freezing. Meanwhile, LP is forming in Texas. Because of the existing thermal gradient, and the HP center not moving as far south as expected yesterday, the LP center will have an opportunity to tap some Gulf Stream moisture as it moves ENE across Dixie with an expected emergence into the Atlantic near Kitty Hawk, NC, late Thursday. Snow is likely across much of the south, while much of the mid-Atlantic north of Philadelphia and all of New England seeing less precipitation. The situation is somewhat dynamic, and things might change over the next 24 hours.

Warnings Expected: Winter Storm Warnings will likely be posted across several locations through Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Viriginia, and Maryland by tonight.

Weather forecast for Washington, DC, Baltimore, Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the Eastern panhandle of West Virginia:

Cold today, high near 35, except upper 20s west. Turning sharply colder tonight, low near 15 in Washington to the single digits in the Blue Ridge. Remaining cold on Wednesday, snow developing late and spreading across the entire forecast region by early Thursday. Low Wednesday in the 20s. Strong NE winds likely Thursday with little increase in temperature. Snow Thusday. Several inches possible. Winter Storm Warnings will likely be posted late this evening.

In the news:

The United States has said they do not trust Saddam and believe he is working hard to dupe inspectors. While inspectors actually got into a "Presidential Palace" and found nothing (no surprise, BTW), a search of a missile factory, according to CNN, came up with items missing that had been identified in previous inspections years ago.

President Bush is likely to announce a mass innoculation campaign for Americans against smallpox in the next day or so. The plan is to first vaccinate around 1,000,000 folks - about 500,000 in the military and another 500,000 health care workers. The second step would be first responders - about 10,000,000 souls. Finally, the general public would be offerred the vaccine if they wanted it.

Russia and China have both urged North Korea to give up nuclear weapons.

Israel has announced that any mass terror attack on that Nation would open the door to a response that were hitherto "unnaceptable to public opinion."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Sorry for the "S" word in the opening. It's a little hard to pitch a weax forecast for a nor'easter without using it.

Good Morning Chair. Thanx for all the work you do each day to get this thread started.

All this weather talk is perplexing. I am used to having miserable weather,,,. Here I sit, 5 hrs West of Chicago, 5 Hrs. Northwest of St. Louis,,,, and no snow. I'm not complaining, mind you. It's just unusual.

I'll take that and trade you 26 with 20 MPH wind, for a wind chill of about 10. Or tomorrow morning when I walk out of the cottage and it will be 13.

Walking both ways to the bakery should entitle you to 2 Dutch Letters. Look at all the exercise you were getting,,, certainly enough to work off the extra calories. NOT.

I used to stop there for a "fix" about once a month. Now there is a bypass around town, which has assisted me with my diet program.

America – The Right Way!!
The Daily Update – December 3, 2002

REMEMBER THE TRADE CENTER!!

AMERICA’S WAR ON TERROR – Day 449

The news as reported in The Washington Times:

[Note – All links go to The Washington Times’ website.]

1. Russia and China are both urging Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons program.

[And they urge the United States to stick to the 1994 agreement with North Korea – HA! How can the United States be expected to be obliging when it was the only one honoring the document? Nonsense!]

North Korea urged to end nuke program

2. President Bush is not happy with the Iraqi posture toward the inspectors, and reiterating that Saddam has until Sunday to come clean on his weapons program.

[Prediction – Baghdad will certify it has no WMDs in Iraq when they release their report on Sunday.]

Bush says Iraq actions 'not encouraging'

3. Great Britain released a dossier detailing the barbarity of the Saddam regime.

[Supposedly gruesome reading, but no real surprise.]

Britain details Saddam's 'barbarity'

4. The Supreme Court has agreed to take up the issue of whether a college may use race as a basis for determining admission.

[Here’s to hoping they do the right thing and say “NO!”]

Court nears 'high noon' on race-based admissions

5. Senator Jesse Helms came to Washington 30 years ago with an aim to stop Communism and reverse the Government’s leftward direction.

[He appears to have succeeded on both counts. Congratulations on a job well done, Senator!]

Get to D.C., head right

6. The stock market has had its best two back-to-back months since 1987.

[Excellent!!]

Stock gains spur hopes of end to bear market

7. Washington, DC, police officials say their automated radar cameras are accurate, but the people who program them make mistakes.

[Typical.]

District says radar cameras accurate

We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.
