A special Thanksgiving thank you from the RNC:
Smash here!
It's goofy, but thought I'd share it any old way. (I really like the wink from GWB.)
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
I'll be on the road much of tomorrow, see y'all soon.
Feel better Aggie Mom!

Tonight was pretty nice. I"ve got a terrible cold/cough along with the morning sickness, so I decided to stay home while everyone went out to dinner. I ran up to the bookstore, but barely made it out before I had to puke. =( So no book for me, but I did turn on the fireplace and bake 2 pecan pies. The house smells heavenly even with my stuffed up nose. I still feel like crap, but it was nice to be alone for a few hours.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day, and I'm really not up to going over to my cousin-in-law's house for Thanksgiving, but if I don't all hell will break loose. Oh well, at least I had a respite tonight.

Go and make the best of it. Morning sickness is no fun, but I hope you can enjoy being with your family.
We had Pre-Thanksgiving tonight...a sister was passing through on the way to MIL's for turkey day. We had a gumbo feast....I can hardly even think about cooking for tomorrow.
To bed...up early to clean house and cook.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ONE AND ALL!

Oh man, kid. It's been 34 years since I went thru a pregnancy where I had morning sickness 24/7, and you've brought the memories and sensations all back for me.
Hang in there. You are doing pretty danged good if you can bake pies thru it all.
You know the soda cracker remedey don't you?

Oh Brother! Love the 'toon.

You know the soda cracker remedey don't you? Right now I am munching on saltines. I got no sleep last night thanks to this darn cough and stuffed nose. I called my ob/gyn hoping there was a nurse on duty, and got my ob instead. I felt like an absolute idiot asking him for medicine when I'm sure he's been up delivering babies all night. DH says that taking calls is part of the breaks when you are a doctor. I really didn't want to call, but last night, my eyes started sealing shut with pink eye, so I figured I had to call.

I really needed that laugh. Thanks lodwick. =)

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving to all. AM, I hope you start feeling better very soon! We're all patting your hand and saying, "There, there" through our computers!

As Reader's Digest notes, sometimes laughter is the best medicine.
Get well soon AM!

It may be a holiday, but there's still news. I'll post a few items before we have to bundle up and make the trek to mother's house:
MAYOR Bloomberg had a laugh at the expense of the only ethnic group its still considered safe to ridicule publicly: WASPs. During a bill-signing session in the Blue Room of City Hall, Bloomberg introduced City Council speaker Gifford Miller, saying, "The honorable Gifford . . . whats your middle initial?" Miller responded, "Actually I have a first initial. Its A." Bloomberg quipped, "Oh, of course, thats what all the WASPs have." When that drew chuckles, he said, "I mean, its me going around and its M. Rubens Bloomberg. Cmon. Gifford Miller." Page Six
More on the Dems (Gore, Daschle, et al.) complaining of media bias (LOL!!) in a Washington Times article.
Bill Clinton spending TG with his daughter, not his wife (and Hillary makes such a spectacular pumpkin pie!), source.
Lizzie Grubman gets out of the big house tomorrow:
The good news for Lizzie Grubman is that she gets out of jail tomorrow in time for a belated Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. The bad news is her legal troubles are far from over. On Monday, Grubman must report to the Probation Department in Manhattan. On Dec. 18, she is scheduled to be questioned by lawyers for victims suing her for millions. And sometime before the year is out, she must begin serving 280 hours of community service. full story
And, of course, what's a holiday without the dimwitted blatherings of celebrities (eating turkey is evil! Thanksgiving is evil! White men oppressed the natives!):
Mary Tyler Moore, Lauren Bush and Alicia Silverstone are among the vegans who detest the annual turkey genocide. "Thanksgiving should be a celebration of life, not only our own but that of all living creatures," Silverstone preaches to the converted on vegsource.com. "So, it doesn't make sense to me to celebrate it with a dead bird in the middle of the table."
.... Billy Dee Williams says, "I can't bring myself to ever celebrate Thanksgiving. It was the arrival of the Europeans, which disrupted the entire Native American civilization, and I think that was a tragedy." NY Daily News
God bless America.

HELP!
Does anyone have a Magic Chef Rotisserie? Can you tell me why I can not wash the Rods and wheels in the sink much less the Dishwasher? The directions say to just wipe them with a damp cloth...I think that is just nasty. Thanks if amyone can tell me. Happy Turkey Day!
To: Aggie Mama
Good call on contacting the doc, it's part of what you're paying him for. Amazing that you were able to bake pies, with my 5th I got sick around 4:00 each afternoon and was unable to cook. DH was great about it, he either cooked or got take out.
I hope you have a wonderful day, hang in there!

My three-year-old loved the turkey in the corn, but somehow I don't think she'll be seeing this one. (Where do you find this stuff?)

Your news is just too amazing - I guess Billy Dee would prefer to be dying of AIDS in Africa right now.
