This just up on Drudge:
Al Gore attacks FOX NEWS, Rush Limbaugh and the WASHINGTON TIMES in an interview set for release on Wednesday, DRUDGE has learned... MORE... He calls them a 'fifth column' in the ranks of the media, and says that the RNC uses them to inject 'daily Republican talking points' into mainstream media coverage as a whole. Reporter Josh Benson of the NEW YORK OBSERVER is preparing the exclusive, according to sources... Developing...

Shoot! He didn't mention us Freepers?!

I was whiling away my time waiting for the muffins to cool...and went to take a look at how the Gores' book is doing at Amazon. They no longer have a best-seller ranking next to the book, but it ranks at 2,135 on the Amazon sales ranking! But the best part is the customer reviews:

Do you really need this book?, November 23, 2002
Reviewer: Bill from Chapaqua, NY
A total waste of time...I am glad I got it from the library and did not also waste my money.

Girth in the Balance, November 21, 2002
Reviewer: A reader from Glendora, NJ, United States
Dribble. Al should write a book about his wife, Girth in the Balance.

And under customers' advice---where customers can recommend another book instead of or as a companion to this book. So what did someone recommend?
Gumpisms: The Wit and Wisdom of Forrest Gump.

Ha Ha Ha! There wasn't one single nice review. :)

Rush has a solution for AlBore's shrinking book sales:

Go down to Palm Beach and find buyers who'll say that they went to Barnes & Noble or wherever, and they thought they were buying the Gore book, but they bought one of Pat Buchanan's books by mistake. (LOL!)

They could say that they're outraged over this conspiracy and demand that their books count toward Gore's total.

Hey, they tried it in 2000 and got pretty close, right? Meanwhile, the New York Times poll found that Gore has a whopping approval rating of...19%....

I heard Rush offer up his solution of Albore's lagging book sales, yesterday! Too Funny!!

Good Morning. Lots of feast preps to do today,, and I have a funeral for an elderly Aunt today, too. I am ready to face the fact that there are things that will not get done for tomorrow.

NY Post reports:

AL Gore isn't having much more success as an author than he did as a presidential candidate. Gore and his wife, Tipper, have blanketed the media with interviews and TV appearances, but their Henry Holt releases, "Joined at the Heart," about families, and "The Spirit of the Family," a companion coffee table book, aren't selling well.

"Joined" was ranked 1,693 in sales yesterday on Amazon.com, while "Spirit" was at 3,381. Executives at rival publishing houses were not surprised.

"Books by active politicians are traditionally a tough sell," said Random House biggie Stuart Applebaum. "They rarely include anything provocative." [Of course, if they actually had anything worthwhile to say, it might be a different story!] link

From the WashPost:

Hollywood producer Mike Medavoy is a dyed-in-the-wool (okay, cashmere) Democrat, but that hasn't stopped incoming House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) from buttering him up to shake loose some pocket change.

Recently DeLay's people told Medavoy's people that the movie mogul will receive a National Leadership Award and be named an honorary chairman of the Business Advisory Council. All Medavoy has to do is swear his fealty to President Bush's tax-cut and Iraqi war plans -- and donate $500 toward a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal.

"No, thanks," Medavoy told us this week. "Maybe if DeLay called me up and said, 'Look, can you give to a worthy cause, some poor and sick friends of mine,' I might consider it. But this basically sounds like a scheme to get money."

Medavoy might be an ingrate, but his assistant, Jeff Steele, has reached out to various DeLay minions in recent days and has managed to secure for himself the coveted honors his boss spurned -- though Steele says he can't afford even the minimum $100 contribution. (Can't Medavoy pay him better? After all, the producer and his wife, Irena, have given $29,000 to Democratic causes and candidates since 1997.)

We wondered how Medavoy ended up on DeLay's fundraising list, which was compiled by an outside contractor for the National Republican Congressional Committee. "Maybe the person who wrote Barbra Streisand's Truth Alerts," NRCC spokesman Steve Schmidt told us, "now works for the database company." WashPost

While the NY Post reports of a sighting of:

. BILL Clinton and Warren Christopher headlining a foreign policy forum at film producer Mike Medavoy’s house in Beverly Hills . .

Who is this guy? The amount he's donated to the Dems is small potatoes, compared to other H'wood types, so why is he so significant? Investigative minds want to know.

Who is this guy?

Mike Medavoy...prominent overnight guest at the White House during the time Hitlery was mulling a run for Senate...he's listed under "Arts and Letters and Sports. LINK

Medavoy began his career at Universal Studios in 1964. He rose from the mailroom to become a casting director. In 1965, he became an agent, working first at General Artist Corporation and later as vice president at Creative Management Agency. Joining International Famous Agency as vice president in charge of the motion picture department in 1971, he worked with such prestigious clients as Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, Terrence Malick, Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland, and Gene Wilder, among others. (He's a has-been)

He looks like a clintonista!

"Mike doesn't say much about his personal life. He's been married four times. He never mentions his third wife "who shared his passion for Mr. Clinton, the notorious Democratic hostess Patricia Duff."

Thanks JL, those look good! Hope your Thanksgiving is a yummy one. :-)

HLL, seems Elton agrees with you about the 007 theme song:

Elt - 007 theme is rubbish

ELTON JOHN has branded MADONNA’s single Die Another Day the worst Bond theme ever.

He said movie bosses on the PIERCE BROSNAN blockbuster would have been better off asking SHIRLEY BASSEY, or Elton himself, instead. [meow!]

He said: “It hasn’t got a tune — James Bond themes are usually very camp and this one’s different.

“It is the worst Bond tune of all time.

“They should have gone for somebody like LULU and Shirley Bassey, or maybe I’m in that league.

“I don’t think it’s the best Madonna record and I’m a big fan.”

I heard a few other people say it stunk as well. Hmmm, Madonna losing it?

Rush has a solution for AlBore's shrinking book sales:

You probably also heard him say that the reason the books sales are so bad is because the DNC spent all their money on trying to oust Jeb Bush and didn't have any left over to funnel to the Unions so Union members could go out and buy it like they did Speaker Jim Wright's book. Ha Ha!

I completely agree with Elton John. The Madonna song was awful. It was like being tortured.

Perhaps he was big on buying gifts for the new Senator's home?

I hope you're feeling better real soon! My daughter had some of the same problems but the worst for her was the grocery store. All the smells and the lights made her miserable.

I thought about a Wacko Jacko mask for time around your MIL too! Maybe then she'd understand just how bad it is for you. Or you could up chuck on her shoes. :-)

May you get your feet up, a good book and fire asap! Keep us posted.

As promised turkey pictures.

President Bush (news - web sites), right, grabs the hand of Ron Prestage, left, of the National Turkey Federation, to have him pet a possibly aggressive female turkey named Katie as they attend the ceremonial pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey in the Rose Garden of the White House Tuesday, Nov., 26, 2002 in Washington. Katie will spend the rest of her life at a petting farm in Herndon, Va. (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)

Could there be anything more stupor-inducing? I get drowsy just thinking about it.

LOL and Yikes! Rule number one of being in clinton's midst: Never EVER fall asleep!
Rule number two: Pour your own drink and never let it out of your sight.

Dentist appt. for the rug rat - back later.

Does anyone see the irony in Britons being surveyed on who has good - or bad - teeth? Anyway, they decided that Ozzy Osbourne has the worst teeth among British celebs; Pierce Brosnan and Liz Hurley the best. And then there's this:

Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts came top of the poll for best teeth in Hollywood with George Bush and Chelsea Clinton voted the worst.

When did George Bush and/or Chelsea Clinton move to Hollywood? Sometimes it's hard to decide who's more clueless, Brits or Canadians!

source.
