Word For The Day, 11/25/02 Monday
11/25/02

Posted on 11/25/2002 7:29:16 AM PST by Bella_Bru

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

bouleversement\bool-vair-suh-MAWN\, noun

:

1. Complete overthrow; a reversal; a turning upside down.

Etymology: Bouleversement comes from French, from Old French bouleverser, "to overturn," from boule, "ball" (from Latin bulla) + verser, "to overturn" (from Latin versare, from vertere, "to turn").

Good moring, class!

I think the derision has mainly been limited to the San Fransissyco area and the HBO sports shows. Other than that, I don't think it has gotten much press. I found one thread related to Hearst's comment on FR, and hadn't really heard anything about it other than that. He didn't even get any mention on the weekly "Just Shut Up" awards on the Mike & Mike morning show on ESPN radio.

Since things are a bit slow here at WFTD, perhaps a
gratuitous ossifer is in order?

Christmas shopping? Thought the class might be interested in these two lists. Just me being serious for a change.

Actually LOTR:TTT opens Wednesday the 18th. Some places will have midnight shows for those who truly can't wait. And reviewing the extended DVD that came out in November is a great idea; the extra footage tells the story even better than the orginal theater release.

Chiropractic has a valuable role in the treatment of musculoskeletal complaints, don't get me wrong. Most chiropractors are honest, hard-working practitioners.

She's too skinny, period. I worry if she ever falls down she'll break half the bones in her body.

I remember, about the time Doug Williams was playing, a rumour that up to 25% of all the players in the NFL were gay. Maybe that's what he was responding to.
