OK class anyone know how to recover an unsaved Excel file? Everytime I save my memory-starved computer crahes.
To: dubyaismypresident
hoo boigh! try this:
search on your hard drive for a file named "autorec*.xls" that is anything that begins with the string "autorec" and is an excel file. The file name should appear as something like "Autorecovery of book1.xls". double click on this and wait for it to complete it's work - it will recreate everything you did to the file up to 10 minotes before you crashed. then listen very carefully what I say now:
perform the folloowing: (once it stops):
FILE
SAVE AS
give it a new name. if you fail to do this, you will lose the file when you exit excel. you only get one chance to do this right, so remember to do a "SAVE AS" when it's done.
hope this helps.

CALLING ALL CROQUETTES!!
Last night I was minding my own business, innocently going through my sister's book on Dorset (that's a county in England, Miss Whyisa, and my sister went to school there for a couple of years) when I innocently staggered into the following ithyphallic apparition:

This is the Cerne Abbas Giant, carved into the grass down to the white chalk. One theory of it's origin is a Romano-Briton response to the Emperor Commodus (that's right, the one who gave Maximus such a hard time in the movie "Gladiator") declaring himself to be the incarnation of Hercules (then a fertility deity in many places). Hence the club and the 10 yard long genital appendage. The entire figure's about 60 yards long. Find out more on Google, I can't sit here typing all day. :^) You're welcome.

I forgot the best part: it says in my sister's Dorset book that the National Trust keeps it up (!). OK, so I paraphrased a little.
