In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
munificent\mu·nif·i·cent\, adjective:
munificence, noun
munificently, adverb
1. Very liberal in giving; generous.
2. Showing great generosity: a munificent gift.
Etymology: Munificent is from Latin munificus, generous, bountiful, from munus, gift. The quality of being munificent is munificence.
Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
Teacher's note:
Today we will be playing a little game. As you can see, the forms of the WFTD are given in the order of ADJECTIVE, NOUN, and last, ADVERB. You must carefully watch what the student ahead of you turns in for his/her homework, because you will be required to use the form following that which was previously used. For example, if he or she uses the noun form, you must use the adverb form. If the adverb form is used, the next student's homework must contain the adjective form. Points WILL be subtracted for failure to follow along. This little game will give you all the opportunity to learn from each other by scanning other student's homework. Do not disappoint Mistress Bella. You know how cranky she is on Mondays.

Cold and a roof-less stadium are apparently necessary for the Packers to sustain a win over the Vikings. I think we've only lost about 90 or 100 in a row in Minnesota. Well, 9 out the last 11 actually.

i watched the end of the Redskins/Giants game and was feeling cold and chilly seeing them playing in that cold slop. xshub reminded me of how much $$ they are paid, and i didn't feel bad for them in the slightest. didn't look fun, though.
xshub's fave player, Donovan McNabb, broke his ankle yesterday and will be out the rest of the season.

adverb:
This *itch, aside from being a beauty queen, munifently exudes anti-American fervor. Looks like Stanford, grudgingly, did the right thing. She and Helen Thomas are a nice pair.

"xshub's fave player......"
The above should read Favre....:) Although he had a bad game yesterday.
I enjoy watching McNabb play as well.....unfortunately injuries are a consequence of the best game in the world.

xshub's bizarre SU boosterism extends beyond graduation! McNabb seems like a genuinely nice guy, in what i have read of him. He apparently played on the broken ankle for most of the game, thinking it was only a sprain.

CO-PILOT PLUNGES FROM SMALL PLANE 9,000
FEET OVER TEXAS; PILOT LANDS SAFELY HOUSTON (AP) - The co-pilot of a single-engine aircraft plunged from the plane as it made a steep turn 9,000 feet over the Houston area. The 45-year-old Houston man apparently jumped or fell from the plane Sunday afternoon near Prairie View, about 20 miles northwest of Houston, federal and local authorities told the Houston Chronicle for Monday editions. An instructor pilot, the only other person on board, was concentrating on a steep turning maneuver when he heard a thump and saw the co-pilot's feet and legs leaving the airplane, Waller County Sheriff's Lt. John Kremmer told the Chronicle.
Kremmer said a search for the pilot in the area's pastures, woods and lakes was expected to resume early Monday. Officials said the Cessna 152 had taken off 45 minutes earlier from David Wayne Hooks Airport in Spring. The pilot notified authorities about the incident before returning to the airport. "The instructor and the aircraft landed safely," said Roland Herwig, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. Kremmer said the co-pilot - whose identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives - had a pilot's license but could not fly alone because of an unspecified medical condition.
The instructor pilot told investigators that both men were strapped in when the small trainer aircraft took off from the airport. "He just doesn't know at what point that changed," Kremmer said. Kremmer said there was no indication the man had a parachute.
