In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
munificent\mu·nif·i·cent\, adjective:
munificence, noun
munificently, adverb
1. Very liberal in giving; generous.
2. Showing great generosity: a munificent gift.
Etymology: Munificent is from Latin munificus, generous, bountiful, from munus, gift. The quality of being munificent is munificence.
Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!
Teacher's note:
Today we will be playing a little game. As you can see, the forms of the WFTD are given in the order of ADJECTIVE, NOUN, and last, ADVERB. You must carefully watch what the student ahead of you turns in for his/her homework, because you will be required to use the form following that which was previously used. For example, if he or she uses the noun form, you must use the adverb form. If the adverb form is used, the next student's homework must contain the adjective form. Points WILL be subtracted for failure to follow along. This little game will give you all the opportunity to learn from each other by scanning other student's homework. Do not disappoint Mistress Bella. You know how cranky she is on Mondays.

I see that the munificent IGOR would beat the hildebeast by 10 points, but wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in hell of beating mini-me. poor, pitiful dems. they're starting to appear as Michael Jackson - pitiful charactures of past glory.

We must thank the Dems for their
munificence in throwing that
funer-ally in MN. I believe that did a great deal to provide us a Repub majority.
sneaky, sneaky, teachy! but it is a great idea and will make school more fun!

Claiming to act
munificently, the Liberals would buy votes with other's money.
Didn't Munificent Fenwick used to be a Senator from NJ?

While working for 2 weeks in Virginia, I had the chance to ask a scantily-clad Hooters girl who had worked in Mass, Va, Tx and La who tipped better. She stated that Texans semed to have the edge, and stated further that Republicans tipped more
munificently than Democrats everywhere. Thus, she was pleased she would not be in the "Land of Endless Taxes" when the Dems go to Boston to choose the top Marxist in '04.
PS. I got the job and will be moving to Va in a few more weeks.

I had an adverb ready to respond to XS's comment and then my computer took a mulligan. I guess now it's adjective time.
It is a maxim of liberal involvement that munificient support of bizarre programs are always viewed in direct proportion to the amount of tax money available to alleviate the necessity of actually using their own money for their "causes".

With all due respect Miss Bella, your assignment is akin to hitting us with a pop quiz on Monday morning........a practice bordering on the un-American.
