AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 665 and 666) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 16, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 11/16/2002 4:33:01 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Jiang Zemin may have stepped down as President of China, but he still retains control of that Nation's military.

Director Tom Ridge is expected to be nominated as the first Secretary of Homeland Security.

And Britain's Medical Officer (akin to our Surgeon General) announced that his country will begin an education campaign to inform British subjects how to respond to a biological or chemical attack.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

that Plain Potato

That joke was created by someone deep in the bowels of CNN. The tator is just the teller not the writer. There is a lot of anger among employees at CNN. Most people who work there hate it. Their feelings come out in jokes. I just gave you one of the few clean ones.

One of my former employees got out and is now doing History Channel voice overs, Heartland Music Commercial voice overs, and Federated Department store Commercials (Sax, Lazarus etc). Another CNN ex is back in Ohio anchoring the 6 and 11 pm news on a local station. He said he took a real cut in pay to get out of CNN, but it was realy worth it for his peace of mind.

Roger Ailes who was once a media Guru for Ronald Reagan runs Fox. Before he took over Fox, Rodger ran MSNBC. Fox I think is a much happier place to work. Roger is easy to work for. I never worked for him, but people that do say they like him. There is a lot of fear at CNN, and not much at Fox from what I hear.

I did some consulting work for the CNN channels back in 1997 (not on the air), it is not a nice place.

"He said he took a real cut in pay to get out of CNN, but it was realy worth it for his peace of mind."

And somehow, here in the midwest city of St. Louis, we got stuck with Charles Jaco, as a local news jockey on KMOX. Charles was probably smart to get out of TV though, because he no longer has a TV face, (if you know what I mean) and it means he can run around town making public appearances in a T-shirt and raggy jeans, just because he used to be "Charles Jaco of CNN."

This is a new phenom of the cable news market, instead of having up-and-comers at the local radio and TV news stations, we've got cable has-beens!

I just got off the phone with my local councilman. We've been out of touch since I left for training.

I've got some doors to knock upon tomorrow to get some help to defeat a motor-home ordinance here in Garland. Back in the trenches for me.

You can tell by the atmosphere at Fox, that people are enjoying their jobs.

I think, by it's nature, broadcasting tends to be a profession of one upsmanship. I spent some time behind the mic in the 70's & 80's. The professional organizations connected to the industry were even worse than the newsroom.
