AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION - Days 665 and 666) [Remember the Trade Center!!]

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Jiang Zemin may have stepped down as President of China, but he still retains control of that Nation's military.

Director Tom Ridge is expected to be nominated as the first Secretary of Homeland Security.

And Britain's Medical Officer (akin to our Surgeon General) announced that his country will begin an education campaign to inform British subjects how to respond to a biological or chemical attack.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Morning Nita!

I was stunned yesterday to read about Snow Bunny. I had no idea what had happened, and right now am feeling only sadness.

I often think that a lot of us put our whole life and soul into these writings. We share so much of our lives, and yet would not think of deceiving. It is just not our nature. (Am I being too presumptious?...)

I feel as though I know so many of you, even though we have never met.

Rest assurred that I am who I am! (I still can't believe that this much deception took place.) Some people claim that my outlook on life, and of people, is too trusting, and That I will continue to get burned as I look for the best in people. I accept that, but cannot see any other way to live my life. It is my well founded faith that spurs me on to do the things that I do.

I have such strong feelings that I am not alone, and that most of you are of the same way. (Yesterday I might have said all of you, but now I/we know different.)

It jades you a little when you hear of such things, but I can't allow it to consume me into not trusting anyone. I would be the lesser person for it.

I apologize for the ramblings, but I spent a long time tossing and turning last night pondering this situation that has occurred.

To thine own self be true!

Jay

Yes NY, I had heard about the issue last week...and am feeling the same sadness as you are.

I have not really formulated a comment about the whole situation...it just disturbs me all around.

All I can say is, I am just so glad that I have ATRW and that I have all of you.

I agree. This place is like home.

On to something a little less taxing...

My wife and I went to a Madigral dinner last night, put on by our local High School.

The Commons area was decorated in a castle like setting, and the students performing had gotten the costumes donated by our local University.

Menu included:

Capon consumme` with flat leaf parsley Quenelles

Mixed Greens with Pomgranate, cashews, red apple & poppy seed Dijon Vinaigrette

Rosemary and citrus glazed oven roasted Cornish Game Hen with stuffing Normandy

Cheddar and Chive Piped Potatoes; Honey Glazed Sweet Carrots with Dill

Holiday Cheesecake with Wild berry Chamboard Topping

Crusty Elizabethan Baguettes; Wassail punch

What a wonderful time we had. Each course was brought in with great fanfare of song and dance.

We even had beggars dressed in midevil garb, trying to get scraps from the tables. One poor beggar came to ours, and a grandfatherly man sitting across from me was at a loss as to what to do for this beggar. We said, "Come good fellow... take this roll and nourish thy soul!" We gave him the roll. The beggar, ever grateful, went off to other tables, while at the same time tried dodging the knight, who was trying to chase him out of the castle.

We ended the evening singing Christmas songs.

You guys could have been at that same one...

Now that would have been amazing, but sad, because we never connected. (...as far as I know.)

Ours was held at the school where I teach. (Rosholt School.)

All this talk of Madrigal Dinners is beginning to nudge me into the spirit. I need to find something similar in my community to push me over the top and begin to plan my holidays.

Good Morning Dog. Hope your back is feeling better.

192... We travel to KS this Thursday and celebrate Thanksgiving and exchange gifts at the same time. Our daughters, grandchildren, my parents, sisters - in-laws, aunts and uncles are all there. We exchange at that time to avoid the cost of mailing the gifts.

I've only been to one Magrigal Dinner in my lifetime. Northern Yankee's post #186 fits the description of what I attended a few years ago.

The servers were dressed in medival costumes, and when the dinner was completed, they gave a musical presentation. It was an enjoyable evening.

Wondering how the back is doing. You need to follow directions precisely for fear of later repurcusions with insurance.
