In an interview with Baba Wawa already taped and scheduled to air tonight, Algore will make the following remarks:
...he "absolutely" believed he would become president when the Florida Supreme Court ordered a recount of all disputed ballots in the state, making the result all the more emotionally difficult to accept. His wife, Tipper, said in a Washington Pravda interview, "I still believe we won."
In an interview with Washington Pravda Magazine, Algore said: "I believe that if everyone in Florida who tried to vote had had his or her vote counted properly, that I would have won. I strongly disagreed with the Supreme Court decision and the way in which they interpreted and applied the law. But I respect the rule of law, so it is what it is."
Gore also called the Supreme Court decision (still being labeled in the media as 5-4) "a crushing disappointment" and also remarked their decision was not consistent with their conservative policy.
Also interesting - Algore has come out in favor of a "single payer healthcare system." Hillarycare?

We need generators to power the klieg lights.
Ladies and Gentleman, in no way, shape or form is Stepford Nancy a conservative Catholic. Such a blatant lie on her very first day on the job does not bode well. OTOH, why am I surprised...............
Our Father, grant us the strength and wisdom and joy to use the gifts You have given us.
Protect us from evil and open our hearts to Your great goodness.
Save us from these thoughts and feelings which only succeed in making life wretched and unhappy for ourselves and others.
Save us from foolish discontent, and help us at all times to do the best we can with the resources we have. Save us from the envy which forgets to count its own blessings, because it thinks so much of those of others.
Save us from the jealousy which grudges others every gift and every success.
Save us from vain regrets about things which cannot be altered; and give us grace to accept the situation in which we are, and there to serve Thee with our whole heart. Save us from bitterness which poisons life for ourselves and others.
ML, I saw that you got some excellent advice yesterday in answer to your question.
Your point about insurance coverage was a good one.
There is COBRA which can be purchased perhaps for a interim coverage if necessary.
Do you know about this??
Both your son and Em may be "trying" out ideas in their heads, speaking of them, and then will make other choices.
John used to do this ALL the time, and we got used to just listening and not fretting....much! LOL
Have you made your T-day plans?
My cousins are going out of town, our elderly friend is going to Texas to see her daughter, and am trying to think of Plan 3....
Good Morning Everyone :)
BTW, Miss Jane, do you know if it is OK to dryclean an antique bedspread????
Ev & I had a long IM chat last night and he is definitely leaning toward taking the semester off; but he will go ahead and register anyway in case he decides to stay put; that way he will be assured of having the classes he wants if he DOES go back. That was my idea, and it made sense to him. It doesn't cost anything to withdraw if that's what he decides to do.
You could be right, though; he may just be "exploring his options"........at any rate he said he will give it a LOT of thought before making a decision.
No word if my son is coming this way from Va.
Plan 3? You are always welcome here, Molly. :-) Wouldn't that be a hoot?
"......I was supposed to do a presentation about the Crusades on Wednesday, but the date was changed, so I have time to do a little more research. Sure is interesting stuff. It's hardly like working.
I'm trying desperately to come up with something interesting to tell you about, but honestly, I'm stuck. I've been immersed in school and homework and research. Oh, I did go to a movie on Mon. to get my head out of the books for a couple ours. I saw "Dragon Rouge" (or Red Dragon as it's called in the US), the pre-quel to "Silence of the Lambs" with Hannibal Lechter. It was in French, with no subtitles, so my friend Kathy and I had a rather hard time following the story. I enjoyed it, though. Tomorrow evening I'm going to a choral concert at the Opera Theater here in Avignon, just for something to do since I can't leave town. My archéologie class has an expedition to Vivries (wherever that is) at 9 am Saturday morning, which lasts all day. I'm sure I'll get some nice pictures though. Speaking of photos, I talked to somone at a photo shop about the best way to store my digital pictures, and they have a deal where they put them on a CD AND give you paper photos, on top-quality photo paper, for a very reasonable price. So, once I get the pictures on CD, I can upload them to the Web for you to see. I got some kind of artsy shots in Italy.
That's all for now. About time for me to get home. Bye bye! Love, Em"
