A couple of weeks ago we went to Memphis for a convention ..... had to change our watches from EDT to CDT. We left to come home on the day that we went back to standard time, crossing the time zone late on Saturday afternoon. Knowing that we were going to have to change our watches back later that night, I just left mine alone. Hubby changed his ..... and wanted the car clock changed. So if someone had swooped down and asked us what time it was, we would have had to ask if they wanted EST or EDT or CDT. Glad we didn't have any critical time constraints that evening.

On our trip across country, I left my watch set to EDT. It keeps extremely good time; the clock in the SUV does not (it slowly gains time). We adjusted the clock in the SUV, and everyone else set their watches, when we crossed time zone boundaries (except for when we went through the Navaho Nation just east of Grand Canyon - seemed kind of silly to set the clocks only to have to do it again 25 miles later). By leaving my watch alone, that made sure we would have reasonably accurate time on all the other clocks and watches.
