In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

how would i find out if he voted? i do not have any doubt in the world that my brother, bearing the same name, could drive from OH to my dad's polling place in PA and vote in his stead. Except, my bro is a republican and has way too many scruples.

that's ok, camle, thanks. it was last december that he passed away.
he was a blue collar, union dem from the word go. I grew up hearing the mantra that the dems are for the working man, and the republicans are for the rich guys. It was a thorn in my dad's side that both of his kids grew up to be republicans! many a screaming fight was had at our holiday gatherings over politics. But i have to say, my dad was at my house for Easter when Elian was snatched and he cried right along with me over that.

I was talking to my SIL last night about various candidates and she said, "This is too confusing. Can't I just pull the lever at the top and vote for all the Republicans at once?" I handed her my wallet and hugged her.

Not really, the US Rep is a lock (Republican, although not the one I wanted..), but did get to vote against a liberal wacko Professor who was running for state senate. Not really any key races here this year.
