Word For the Day

felicitate verb
Pronunciation: 'fi-lis-a-tate

Latin felicitatus Date: 1605

1. : to make happy

felicitious: adjective, very well suited or expressed

felicity: noun;  the quality or state of being happy

felicific: adjective; causing or intending to cause happiness

Good Morning Class. Welcome to School!

Here is my example with WFTD:

The Democrat fiasco in Minnesota at the Wellstone Memorial has been dissected and commented upon ad infinitum by various and sundry pundits and talking heads, but one of the most touching and felicitous is the piece today by Peggy Noonan. As is her wont, she takes it to the deep gut, personal level, a level upon which all can relate. Here she writes in the voice of Paul Wellstone, from the great beyond.

Let me tell you, when I watched the memorial and how you acted, I wasn't alone. Jack Kennedy was here, and you're not going to like this, but he said what he said the day Nixon had his meltdown in '62. He looked at you and said, "No class."

John Adams is here too. He turned away from you in disgust. "Faction!" is what he said. It was no compliment .

Was what I read yesterday true? You were born on Hallowe'en? BWAAAHAH...

Um, er, (ahem!) excuse me, allow me to offer you felicitations, and congratulations that you weren't born on April 1. Here are some of Mr. Monet's best flowers for your birthday yesterday:

My brother-in-law had to give their cat two insulin shots a day, Sword. You're right, it doesn't hurt the cat at all.

Good luck.

I'd just better keep the peroxide handy for me for a little while... it'll give a whole new "literal" meaning to Cat Scratch Fever.

HAHAHAH, speaking of busy beavers.... It seems that gals at Cornell are too stoopid to shop for their own Mr. Vibrators. So if these things need to be provided by the dispensary, just when (and how) is said dispensary going to even things up for the guys? And how aboot this sentence: "[Using a vibrator] can be a part of a holistic health approach...". "Holistic"? Hmmm, or should that be "hummmm"?...

"Well, she's younger, but then who isn't?"

When Miss Rika reads that, you're going to be in more trouble than Cook was today with xs!

My sister had to give insulin shots to her mini poodle twice a day. It's not pleasant, but doable. You'll learn all the tricks. Her dog had a wonderful life for five more years after diagnosed. Albeit, he bit her in the face one time while she was giving him the shot. She only had about five stitches, though.

Who, me? Well, if I need to, I can always distract her with xs's's's's's lovely story aboot the Cornell dispensary, whilst I makes my sneaky-type getaway...

("Who was that masked man?" "Beats me (pardon the expression), I'm just glad he was wearing that mask!")

You're very welcome. Did you see your day-or-so late birthday flowers, as painted by the late Mr. Monet, up above somewhere?

After going through the grinder for four flipping weeks, Cyber and I are going down this afternoon to pick out the tile for the floors. It's been a long four weeks since the flood.

I told him God was testing our ability to go through crud together. We passed the test!

Slip your support is second to none. Nice touch mentioning the dog bite.

You remind me of my Ortho surgeon after my first rotator cuff surgery. I awoke, kind of, in the recovery room and he was standing over me and as soon as I opened my eyes, he got this sullen look on his face, addressed me by my first name and said, "It was a lot worse than we ever expected".

Even in my stupified, drug induced state, I accused him of skipping Bedside Manner 101 while attending med school.
