In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
slue \slew\, also slew verb:
slueing, slued, slues, slewing, slewed, slewes
slue or slew; noun
- To turn (something) on an axis; rotate: slued the swivel chair around; sluing the boom of a crane.
- To turn sharply; veer: braked and slued the car around.
- To turn about an axis; pivot
- To turn or slide sideways or off course; skid
- The act of sluing
- The position to which something has slued
I know that there are many definitions of Slue/Slew; but today we are using this one.
Etymology: [Prov. E. slew to turn round, Scot. to lean or incline to a side; cf. Icel. sn?a to turn, bend.] Date: circa 1860

After viewing last night's abomination, I truly believe that democrats of Wellstone's ilk possess no sincere feelings.
My father died nearly 30 years ago and I still get a lump in my throat when I think about him.
Wellstone's son leads a pep rally the day after his father's burial?!?

Good Morning (Evening) all!
Sorry I've been unavailable the last couple days. I've had a slew of tasks to accomplish by friday, with each once causing me to slue from one location to the next.
Friday I'll be off to Norfolk for 13 days of work work work, then returning here. So, I'll try to log in once in a while, but for now it seems unlikely.

it was truly appalling and all i saw were the clips on Hannity and Colmes. i agree in principle that people are entitled to express grief in the way with which they are most comfortable, but those shenanigans were really over the top.

XS, of course I trust in the honesty of your response to me, but I must admit, I do have difficulty believing that you could take your eyes off Sean even for a second, to watch the fiasco in Minnesota. :))))
To be serious for a moment, Rush made a comment yesterday about the impeccable timing of the entire 3 or 4 hour rally. With democrat ties to Hollywood, I can't help believing that the Wellstone campaign got a little production assistance from left coast professionals, assistance that logistically had to predeed Mr. Wellstone's burial. Just a thought.
God bless,
