How is my fellow autumn-lover? Having lots of "normal" days I hope.
(Go Chargers!)
All: The latest from girlchild:
"....I saw the very first sign of autumn in Avignon---there were colored leaves floating on the surface of the clear water in the fountain at Place Louis Pasteur. A nice thing to see on my way to school..........
"I can't believe it already reached under freezing in GB! I'm still hot ALL the time! My host mother told me at dinner today that it only snowed once all last winter in Avignon. (ed. note: how sad!)
Speaking of dinner, we had breasts of lapin (rabbit) for dinner one night. I didn't even know what it was at first; it looked like a chicken breast, but it did not taste like chicken. I didn't really DISlike it, but because I was so unaccustomed to the unique flavor, it did not become my instant new favorite.
......Tomorrow I have the day off from classes, so assuming I can get my rear end out of bed at a decent hour (ed. note: not likely), I'm going to go to the library and hopefully get a good chunk of research done for my 3 upcoming presentations. And mid-term exams are next week!! SO I'll be studying a lot this weekend. On Saturday, however, I have an all day Archeologie excursion (with the prof. and class) to Vaison Romaine, which is southeast of here, but not very far.
That's it for now. Send some good vibes my way on Tues., Wed., and Thurs.---exam days.
Love you!
Emily"
She opened her letter with the usual college student rant of being tired, pulling all-nighters, studying too much, putting up with crabby professors, etc. etc. etc., but you've all heard (or said) that stuff enough times & didn't need to hear it again IMHO.:)
