In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

The junior
Stentor* from New York never ceases bloviating her bovine excrement and propounding her piffle.

* "B!tch" will work, too.

it didn't make any sense to me.
The poster specifically stated in it s/he wasn't trying to sell anything - just letting people know.
Needless to say I am not going to post the url s/he gave for fear of ticking of one of the mods!!!

On the few occasions that I have heard her speak, I have noticed that Condi has a stentorian voice. This surprised me, as she is so tiny looking!

Homer's
Iliad has one of the most striking literary images I remember. Homer (whoever he or they were: I've seen it suggested that Homer may have been as many as twenty-four people) describes the fish, in the River Scamander (or was it another river?) near Troy, nibbling at the globules of fat floating on the river, said fat being from the dead and wounded bodies lying in the river...
Whoever wrote that bit had to have seen it in a battle or had it described to them, I'm not sure a mere human imagination could come up with that...

"I was president of the Drama Club in high school . . ."I was president of the Spanish club..."
I was president of Sodality, the religious organization on campus. Don't ask me why . . .
