The Vebivores | 10/11/02 | Hobbes1 The Good Sub.....

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

The enemy has been engaged, and Saddam just pooped his pants! As we continue our battle, remember why we are fighting. The Eagle is awake and demanding retribution. As our President said, “We will not negotiate!”. We will not forget. Just like we Did not forget to repay those that perpetrated the Attack On Pearl Harbor....

xsteen has asked that i inquire amongst my math nerd friends, to see if anyone can help her with this challenge problem in math.

she needs to show the work, not just the answer.

the question is....

2 to the 5028 power (i can't make it small and up at the upper right hand corner like real math nerds can) ends in what digit? [the teacher said don't use a computer, there is a pattern...]

ok, math nerds, who has the right stuff?

2^5028 ends in 6

2^1 = 2
2^2 = 4
2^3 = 8
2^4 = 16 then the pattern repeats.

5028 = 1257 repetitions of 4. hence 6.

Gee not only do we have to give xsteen the answer, but also the proof. Heck why don't we just take her next test, or better yet get Frank Lautenburg to do it ;-)

Indiana is the most conservative nonsouthern state so an Indiana Dem might not be too liberal.

That would be hillarious, of course most of the kids won't get the joke.

Kinda the opposite of a New Jersy Republican.

The only reason the northeast has Republicans at all is there are people who don't want to be in the same party as their hired help.
