First, you said that the interview with Ed and Lois appeared to have been done prior to Ricci's death. Do you know if they actually did travel to NYC to tape a show on Sept.12, as was reported? Were you able to get a feel for just when this particular show might have been taped? Did you get a sense from listening to Lois that she might be giving up hope?
In yesterday's Salt Lake Tribune article, Ed said that Lois is now going with the scenario that Elizabeth is dead. This is quite a departure from her previous stance, and from that of most family members. I just wondered when and how Lois had come to experience this change of heart.
I saw the New York interview but I didn't tape it. I would characterize Lois as quite emotional in this one. She was on the verge of tears several times as were many members of the audience that were shown. I wouldn't dare to try to post what she or Ed said but perhaps NBC has a link to a transcript of the show.
The FOX presentation of America's Most Wanted was broadcast this last Saturday but the interview with them was older than the one in New York. It appeared as if they were in their home and they spoke of Ricci as if he were alive. Lois showed more hope in this interview but it was not as recent as the New York piece.
While the family is still expressing a belief that Elizabeth is still alive I think in reality it is more of a hope. If you read the instructions for deer hunters on Liz's web site it talks about her possibly having a different appearance but it also tells the hunters to check out any suspicious smells. This is from the family and indicates that they are prepared for somebody finding a body.
