On O'Reilly last night, a guest made a similar point about child abductions. The statistics get quoted "only 50 or 60 child abductions and murders each year". His point was that if it was "50 or 60" murders such as the dragging death of the black guy in Texas, or the gay guy that got tied to the fence post (was it Wisconsin?) and killed, you bet there'd be a national outcry, calls for the death penalty, etc. But child abductors get the apologists rallying around them, never mind the activists for child molestation, like NAMBLA.

Daschle's meltdown yesterday really made my day. It look liked political suicide right in the well of the Senate.

on another note, i also read where the dem candidate for gov. in NY said something like the Upstate NY crowd gets more than their share. i want that replayed continually in upstate NY on tv ads!

Between that, Dasshole, and OwlGore, the Democrats are really competing for the R's long held title as the "stupid party"

Hey dubs, how about some bbq pork for lunch?

PETA's director of vegan outreach had written a letter to the pastor before the pig roast protesting the event and asking him to replace the pork with a vegetarian dish. "God designed pigs to play with one another, root around in the soil, forage for food, and enjoy God's glory," Bruce G. Friedrich to the Rev. David McMillan, pastor of Hibernia UMC.

You have strange sleeping habits my friend!!!!

The antis think they are being very eleemosynary in their idea that kicking smokers out in to the street and out of private locations for the sake of the workers. Yeah right, like I need to be protected from myself.

Not everyone is taking the Bloominidiot and his NYC smoke ban lying down:

NYC City Council Meets To Ban Smoking Everywhere. Alert!!

Unlike the paid anti smokers behind the push for this ban, the woman behind this alert is just a regular everyday citizen who smokes, and also happens to be a NYC cop.

A few Torontonians have been known to get rough over the years (when I lived there in 1967 three guys with air rifles tried to shoot me as I walked across a park, just for fun, we didn't know each other: it couldn't have hurt me too much, except to put an eye out, of course) and I don't like the place. But you're generally still pretty safe in most parts of Canadian cities. Especially, I'd think, up in Mississauga. But we have had several (not many) incidents here and there in the country of teenaged girls trying to seriously harm people in the last few years. What's that aboot?

Susan Sarandon, that world-renowned obtuse leftist pest, has turned temporarily from saving the world to pleading for eleemosynary assistance for her profoundly uninteresting screen career. As I understand this article, the reason her films do not have universal appeal is not because they are mediocre-at-best pictures featuring an obnoxious actress who is not aging well at all...it's those darn heterosexual white men again, don't you know.

Speaking of careers who will be in need of charitable help, here is a neat assessment of Daschle's weird little public nervous breakdown.
