Seeing that Darth's posting privileges have been revoked, I took it upon myself to post the WELL DESERVED opus of a long standing member of FR.

He can't post but he can still read, so fill free to wish him well......

pretty sad. Hopefully Darth will emerge at libertypost.org

I've been told by a former FReeper that it is a pretty good site. I still like FR, but some of the nonsense that has been happening for the last year is getting old...

I *will* vote for Erskine Bowles for U.S. Senator

A tax-and-spend Democrat?? May your chains rest lightly.

See you around, Darth.

May I suggest that you link to the actual exchange between Darth Sidious and Jim that led to the banning? People may want to see it for themselves. If you need help finding it, I can give you a hand.

Bowles is the only one who is a real resident of this state...

Perhaps another opus is necessary to explain why perceived "residency" is the overwhelming reason to vote for a candidate.

Or maybe it was my admission that, yes, I *will* vote for Erskine Bowles for U.S. Senator from North Carolina.

Ewwwww. I was sympathetic 'til I read THAT. Good grief.

Maybe it was my stating that Free Republic is fast becoming as wildly extremist as Democratic Underground. Or maybe it was my admission that, yes, I *will* vote for Erskine Bowles for U.S. Senator from North Carolina.

Those sound like two pretty darn good reasons to me. If anyone here is voting to keep Tom Daschle in charge of the Senate, they should be hung, shot, tattooed, and booted out permanently. I don't care in which order it happens.

You are saying your "sentiments" outweigh President Bush's attempts to appoint conservative judges --- that are being blatently blocked by Democratic Senators.

Well doesn't this beat all. Darth was a staunch member of FR in good standing, at least, judging by his words and actions. I second the motion that his privs be restored.

interesting. I myself have been questioning the idea of a party based system..why not just vote for people who you believe are qualified to lead? Why the hang up on parties? I personally know one democratic state senator who has consistently voted conservatively...i.e. anti abortion, pro-2nd amendment...and have known Republicans who espouse just the opposite of those beliefs.. just by posting this publicly, will I find myself banned? I used to be a Green, and even though a registered Republican, find my beliefs more closely allied with Constitutionalists... is this merely a Republican/Libertarian forum, or are all conservative viewpoints welcome?

Well that sucks. Both that he's gone and that he's right.

All one has to do is look at how the GOP is handling the illegal immigrant issue to recognize that sad truth.

Maybe it was my comparing the Bush-bots to the Clintonistas. Maybe it was my stating that Free Republic is fast becoming as wildly extremist as Democratic Underground. Between the two major contenders, Bowles is the only one who is a real resident of this state... and my sentiments for North Carolina far outweigh the "needs" of any political party.

So, he hates the Clintonistas, but will vote for a Clintonista, just because he thinks Bowles is more of a resident of NC than Liddy Dole is? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I am sorry, Darth. I, for one, choose to remember how much we have in common rather than our disagreements and Madcelt and I will both miss you.

We certainly do have revolting candidates for the Senate this year. I have to disagree about "ERK", though. I think he's just as much a carpetbagging, insider Washingtonian as Dole is.

Anyway, We both want to say good-bye and to wish you and your wife good luck and happiness in your future.

Well, I've paid my $25 worth of bandwidth, so when I get banned, we are fair and square. I've made poorer purchace decisions.. JimRob, if you don't want to ever hear a decenting opinion, I suggest you live your life in a sound booth. I thought that FR was NOT a direct mouth peice to the RNC, but from JimRob's recent comments, I have no reason now to believe that He is NOT a propaganda mouth piece for the RNC.

Go ahead, ban us. Enjoy your soundbooth.

Maybe he can sneak back in as "Sarth Didious"...

No, Seriesly, though, he seemed like a pretty good kid. Sounds like some thin-skinned moderators. (ducking for cover)
