The GUILD 9-23-2002 Day ONe-- Emmy Thread Held Hostage

Posted on 09/23/2002 8:54:20 AM PDT by Hillary's Lovely Legs

In case you missed last night Emmy's thread, it was fabulous. Well the Emmy's were boring but the thread was great. Unfortunately, 2/3 of the way through, the moderators decided that the Emmy's weren't news and shoved the thread into the Cheesehole.

Since you all couldn't have possibly have heard anything about the Emmy's today in the newspaper or television, we will bring you some of the highlights.

Too funny - you should link to these tragic comedians of alliteration.

Rush was going batty over algore's pitiful speech - nearly beside himself, when he gave up on his rant, ended it - and just said, "What a clueless dork!"

I haven't had time to listen to Rush. Emails are flying fast and furious over the Ganske/Harkin thing. Thanx for the reminder, I'll turn Fox off and tune into Rush.

I saw Chelsea with her hair tied back and Ian Klaus with his hair all curly and flowing, walking down the street.

LOL!

I clicked your link but declined the little info gathering effort by the Washington Post.

Is this referring to this past Sunday? Is school not in session over in jolly old England yet?

Also, my take on the "hellos" they were saying to one and all are akin to the dancing on the beach photo featuring her parents. A ploy to draw attention to themselves as "look at US, we're TOGETHER, we're IN LOVE".

I don't know, but desiccated is spelled wrong.
Excuse me while I get a glass of water, I feel the need to rehydrate.

Isn't it amazing how we dried up old hags manage to live such active lives? You just can't keep a good debutante down.

Isn't it though?

The hardest part of my day involves keeping my tiara from slipping off as I walk the children to school.

Life can be so hard.

Well, this deb came home from my noon basketball game and cut the grass, then painted the front door, and will head to the golf course as soon as Mr. M gets home - no mean feat in high heels, tiara and ball gown!

I'm spittin' nails right now! Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee (RI) has come out against the President on the Homeland Security bill...i.e., he's supporting federal employee unions over national security. It was tied 50-50 in the Senate until this turncoat slithered over to the other side. What is it with those northern pubbies? Are they just hungry for kind words in the NY Times or what?

Can anyone name anything this Senate has done since the Dims took control? They haven't even passed a budget for THIS YEAR! It was due July 1st. It's time for Bush to take the gloves off and point this out to the people...the DO NOTHING SENATE.

Last, do you suppose Chafee is prepared to defect if we pick up a Senate seat and get back control? Grrrrrrrr.

This deb woke up late, went into her office and started to sort through sacks of work, was going to start the laundry until I noticed water on the basement floor, got a new water heater since the old one broke, went to the bank, got some pizza, back home to confront exploding toilets from the water pressure, and now I have to dip my tiara into Tarn-X so I can go to some meeting at the fabulous Allen Park Ram's Horn.

RE: Ganske primary race against the marine: same thing happened here in Il this year - very conservative irish-catholic guy ran against the repub Jim Ryan and did quite well, altho didn't beat Ryan. His supporters have been very slow to rally to Ryan's side and I don't blame them - I only voted for Ryan because he had a better chance than the conservative (Patrick O'Malley). Now we stand a good chance of losing the governorship to a dem (young socialist).

I think the Dims are about to crack up.

Al Gore's become a flower child.

We've got the Harkin campaign caught red-handed with controversial tapes of the Iowa GOP candidate's campaign meeting.

And now this: A few days ago Kathleen Kennedy Townsend's campaign immediately, and very publicly, fired a black political consultant (Julius Henson) after he called her GOP opponent "a Nazi". Well, well, well. Turns out that was only for public (voter) consumption. This from today's Baltimore Sun:

A political strategist who called the GOP gubernatorial candidate a Nazi was publicly fired by Maryland Democrats, but he was quietly asked to keep working, the consultant said.

Julius Henson said he was asked to work "undercover" to win black votes for Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and other Democrats in Prince George's County, the Washington Post reported today...

"She said the Jewish community is so up in arms that they have to get rid of me. But 'we still want you to work undercover, and we'll work it out. We'll pay you some kind of way [legal or not],'" Henson told the newspaper.

White did not return a call to her office. Len Foxwell, a spokesman for the Townsend campaign, denied Henson's account.

This could get vedddddy interesting!

Eventho we have known for some time the Dems don't have any scrupples, I sincerely doubt this will be enough to open the diciples eyes.

Where is everybody?

I am going to have my glasses adjusted. I noticed a thread about Azzan.com closing,, I thought Amazon.com was shutting down.

The computer is nearly in meltdown mode. Just tons and tons of Ganske/Harkin stuff coming thru today.

O'Rielly has just completed his interview with Miss America. She appears to be a very well adjusted young lady.

I'm here! ;-)

I need one of those reading glasses adjustments too. Reading about our Gov.'s election, McBrides wife's last name is Sink. This threw me so when I read on in the story that she's a descendent from Chang Banker (co-joined twins of some reputation), I thought it said, Chang Banger.

Good grief, clintoon has altered my head.

Back from the golf course. My tiara kept slipping in my eyes just as I was about to putt, and the high heels did a little damage to the greens, but otherwise, a lovely day for a desiccated old debutante to hit the links, and I tied my personal best.

I hadn't heard about Kathleen Kennedy Whatshername's Nazi "faux pas" - that's a good one. As for Harkin, it's just too much fun when the Dems get caught in the midst of a dirty trick. Remember the videotape and the Gap pants during the 2000 presidential campaign? Same old stuff, sounds like.

The guild is just a bunch of dessicated debutantes drearily droning dumb daily directives to dullards....
Central Scrutiniser posted on 2002-09-24 13:26:25

You know if you're going to insult people the least you can do is spell it correctly.
Dessicated should be desiccated.

CS is so boring, all he has to fuss about is the Guild? Poor baby. They really think these insults bother us? LOL Good thing I can spell LOSER!

Just who are these dullards we're directing?
