We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Chancellor Schroder apologized to the US for the Hitler comparison. No word as to whether the German minister who made the remarks lost her job.
Tornadoes raked across Indiana yesterday afternoon as part of a severe weather front moving eastward.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Hubbybear counted up the miles, and we drove 2000 of them on our vacation......more of an 'adventure' rather than a 'rest'....
...and that doesn't include the flight to Boston & back, and the 3-1/2 hours in the ferry from Bar Harbour to Nova Scotia.
Yes, Radix, the clam chowder is fabulous.......but I'm about chowdered out....LOL
Time to get back to rice cakes & water :)
I'm thinking about writing 'parts' every day of my vacation, if you like.
It was an interesting 2 plus weeks.
Jane, good mercy, I'm so thankful all of the Marples are well and safe!!!!!!!!
....I was so news deprived for days........and heard only a snippet en route about some twisters, but I thought I heard Illinois.
Whenever I had access to a computer, or a few minutes to lurk, it was easy to find 'home'....
((((HUGS)))))
Glad you made it back home safe and sound and that you had a wonderful time!
Glad you made it back home safe and sound and that you had a wonderful time!
OK, I will :)
OK, I will :)
Good to see you Sweetie :)
Where's W.?
Guennie, we've been having a good time traveling across country with Chair, and it'll be delightful to journey up north to Canada and back with you. You certainly did put in a lot of miles ... sometimes it seems like we most need a vacation right after we return home from one.
Molly, I appreciated you giving us the word that Jane was okay after the storm. We were pretty worried there for awhile. Sullivan sounds interesting ... I'm heading off to your link in a minute.
gulfcoast, ah, grits. Us northern girls always forget about those, so sorry. I have to try to remember to throw those in sometimes Ü
NY, I'm enjoying your observations as autumn arrives in your area. My area is pretty dull in that respect, since it stays pretty much the same year round. I love the seasonal changes other parts of the country receive.
kayak, drats, it rained before they got the balloon up? (new phrase for me "stand a balloon" LOL, I'd have been blowing it up, same as you before you were educated). Glad you had a good time anyway. Were there any freepers there that we might know?
John, glad you're more yourself today. Mr. Mulliner, hope you feel better soon. We don't want to have to open Freeper General Hospital again.
See you all after church.
You know what? So do I. I truly believe that during the last 14 months of my life, my relationship with God changed my perspective on life, and it has become more of a one-on-one relationship whereas before, I always thought He was just there. I do not believe it was a coincidence that this happenend. I believe that His plan all along was to give me little tests of faith here and there..until I believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that He knew what He was doing. So when my father became ill, I knew that if I asked God to help me deal with whatever it was He had planned, no matter how bad or how good, He would. And He did...it is very hard to admit that you have no control over something and in order to survive it intact you have to trust Him and believe that He knows what He's doing. It's kinda like jumping out an airplane with a parachute...you have to believe that the parachute is going to open, and you will have a safe landing. If you don't believe that, then you will never jump, and you will never know the beauty you will miss...(I hope that makes sense).
Was it a coincidence that Mr. DJ decided he wanted to spend a week with my family this summer? I don't think so. We got to spend a lot of time with my Dad...it wasn't a four day "Hi We're Here Let's Eat Early Because We Have to Get Home Soon."
Anyway..those are just my thoughts and my opinions. I don't want it to sound like I am standing on the street corner thumping a Bible and waving at cars like a crazed woman. It's just a quiet, serene relationship and one that I will forever cherish and never abuse.
Deej
I feel like a used dishrag right now so think I'll stay home from church. It's times like this, though, that I do kinda wish we had a TV.
So, GC, what's the battle plan? Is bombing going to start before election day?
So, of course, being Mark's primary care-taker, I woke up this morning around 4AM with all the symptoms listed above. AND the boys think it's funny, because I can't talk without sounding like a frog. I took some Thera Flu...that works pretty good, but it makes you slllllleeeeeeeeppppppyyyyyyy, and I have to clean the house today because some people are coming to look at it at 4pm. We had two couples look at it yesterday and so we HOPE that at LEAST one out of the three LIKED it. We did hear from my realtor's assistant that the 2nd couple liked it; the agent that showed the house told her that while they were walking through it, they were "visualizing" what they could do with it. We shall see.
Mr. DJ took one look at me this morning, asked me how I felt and when I answered him, he said "Oh my..you sound HORRIBLE....I hope you don't have West Nile Virus."
ACK!!!! I'm sure it's not that...because I think you have to throw up, too. I'm sure that 8 flights between here and Buffalo enveloped us all in germs. ;-)
Fried rice sounds pretty good to me right about now. I haven't been that hungry, but when I read this comment of yours, I really identified. I spent 10 years in Asia and never really adjusted to that tasteless rice porridge that so many people have for breakfast.
Both of you get well soon. I'm pretty much over mine, but have to regain some strength. DJ, just when I read your comments about West Nile Virus, I was wondering what the symptoms are. Not that I was paranoid, but just wondering.
Dog, I see the Eagles play Dallas. Interesting that those are the first two teams the Titans have played this year. I give my permission for the Eagles to beat up on "America's team." I expect them to, in fact.
Oh yeah..I said 8 flights however, I need to take Math 000 to learn to count. It was not really 8 flights; it was 3 take-offs and 3 landings. So what does that make it? LOL....I'm delusional. ;-)
gulfcoast..I just finished looking at the latest loops of Izzy....HOLY MOLEY! It's outer band reach all the way to the west coast of FLORIDA, and the center is in MEXICO!! I wish he would decide where he was going! He's HUGE!
