So far on TWC, all I've heard about is the hurricane...Now talking about the storms moving into the western part of the state now. Didn't show any pics from Indiana.
We'll be home safe by 7 for the night.

My area has historically been a real tornado alley. When I was growing up (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) we would pull the lawn chairs to the point in the back yard where we could see the suspicious clouds and drive my mother nuts waiting until the last minute to go to the basement. I actually chased one in a car in my late teens.
Ah, the ignorance of youth.
It does, however, seem that KS/MO has been granted a rest the last decade and that those east of us and places like Salt Lake (of all places) have gotten mother natures attention.

I lived in Illinois during my teen years ... and I recall a rousing time chasing one on a two lane road near DeKalb ... banked on both sides by cornfields ... on a sweet BSA650 motorcycle ... this is when I was convinced I was thoroughly undamagable ... though my parents must have aged 10 years for every week I rode the thing ....

Another time I was driving down the highway from St. Joseph to Kansas City watching one dip down a quarter mile west of me, and low and behold, I looked up to see one right in front and above me not yet touching ground....LOL, it taught me a lesson.

Some of you may remember I said girl child stated her civics teacher announced she was an unabashed liberal and teaches that way also. Well, one of the things that goes on in the class is debate on various topics.
Today's topic - affirmative action and quotas.
Girl child raises a point with the teacher - "what if you have two job applicants, a hispanic and a white, for a single job, and the white person is more qualified but there are only hispanic slots remaining?" [Excellent opening question - the answer is obvious to a leftist, allows the leftist the opportunity to appear superior, and suggests ignorance on the part of the interregator.]
Answer - "the hispanic gets the job." [As expected.]
Girl child says, "ok, but let's suppose the same situation, but there are only white slots remaining?" [Taking it up a notch, still leaving wiggle room for the expected leftist answer.]
Answer - "the hispanic would still get the job as this person is a minority." [As expected.]
Girl child continues, "all right, what, then, if the hispanic is more qualified, and there are only hispanic slots remaining - if in the last situation the hispanic got the job, then shouldn't the white person get the job in this situation? Or are there no situations in which the white person will get the job" [KA-BOOM!]
Silence from the teacher - she knew she had been had by a 13-year-old she had seriously underestimated.
Girl child done good!!!
