Reaction in Congress to the President's draft resolution was wholly along partisan lines. Republicans hailed the resolution and said it should be adopted. Demonflops, notwithstanding the language was based largely on a former resolution sponsored by IML Daschle, said changes needed to be made. Such changes would include, if the illegitimate chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Levin, had his way, requiring the President to get UN authorization for an attack before starting combat.
US intelligence agenices are trying to track down a missing Sudanese Air Force pilot who, it is said, is planning to hijack an aircraft and fly it into the White House.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed below 8,000 yesterday.
And the White House is furious over a German official's remark comparing President Bush to former German leader Adolf Hitler.

A comprehensive National Security Strategy
which has a few paragraphs in about three dozen pages talking about the right of the United States to pre-emptively engage an enemy that can threaten us with destruction, and CNN calls it the "First Strike Policy."
Let me give you my view.
Back in the 50's and 60's there was a lot of talk about us being up against GODLESS Communism.
My reply to that was always..."Thank God!!"
This says clearly why containment worked. If all there is to existance is life on earth, then they are unlikely to do something to end their life on earth. On the otherhand if Allah is to provide them with a perfect existance in heaven, then geting to their heaven quickly is a goal not a deterent.
That is the danger of 911. You see for our enemies being killed by us after they kill some of us, is a reward, an enducement, a goal, a thing to be strived for.
The Democrats belief that they will not try to kill us, if they are certain we will retaliate and kill them is just a falacy of stupid Democrats. Can you believe that Democrats think that is a deterent to Muslimes!!!
In this situation... against this religion... safety can't come from deterance. There is no way to structure a deterent. The old deterents are in fact inducements.
Some compare our situation to Hitler or other Tryrants. But hitler was an Atheist. Death cost him all. It did not grant him everything he prayed for. He did not pray. He believed in himself not a Deity.
This is far more serious. Saftey can only come by taking them out before they act. Getting killed before striking a blow for their Allah is failure. It does not get them a good seat at in their vision of heaven. It is the only possible deterent.
Unless you believe that killing people that don't believe as you do is a free trip to a front row seat in heaven... it is a lie. They are not like you. They are not like me. To defeat them we must think like them. We must defeat their beliefs we must defeat the concept that Allah rewards murder.
Democrats are always trying to feel like others. It was either Jimmy Carter or Dan Rather, I can't remember which who said, "My goal in life is to feel like a rabbit." Clinton of course achieved it.
