A study has found that suicide rates in Britain and Australia surged during the last century whenever conservative governments were in power.
University of Sydney researchers analysed suicide figures for New South Wales between 1901 and 1998, and compared them with the prevailing political regime.
When the Liberals or Nationals were in power, men were 17 per cent more likely to commit suicide than when Labor was in Government, while women were 40 per cent likelier to kill themselves.
In Britain, a team from Bristol University has found a similar trend.
Suicide rates were far lower under Labour Governments than under the Conservative Party.
They soared under Margaret Thatcher, who was Conservative Prime Minister from 1979 until 1990.
The researchers at Sydney University say possible factors include conservative parties' traditionally less interventionist approach than Labor on issues like health and welfare, which may cause a sense of exclusion among some people.

Ugh, after reading just that little bit about him I'm miffed!
You can't tell me there isn't an aviation school in Saudi Arabia.
I read a story about the Saudi's being kept out of American flight schools, so they're going to start building their own. I'll go look and see if I can find it.
Hey HLL said if you all have questions for Hannity, in the event they take some, let me know and I'll email them to her. She has email on her phone.

I guess I'll just keeping talking sweet to him - maybe throw in a few "suw-wheaties" for good measure (I lived in TX for a while, I can resurrect my twang). That only has a nuclear effect on me, I'm afraid. ;)
Regards, Ivan
Already a sheet of glass from mountaineer's long string of Southern Belle phrases

Well slather me in butter and call me a biscuit. (I guess that one doesn't work as well, considering we have different meanings for the word. How about scone?)
BTW, Mr. M and I are visiting your fair isle in three weeks. I hope everyone is on his and her best behaviour.

That is the funniest thing I've heard in a long time mountaineer. I'm not a Southern Belle, I just play on on TV, HA! HA! HA! But seriously, I love my Southern neighbors. I love to her them speak. They tell the most colorful stories, even when you just go into the store to pick a few things. I love it.

As Tonkin has mentioned on the Canteen thead, none of us here are over 39, none are over their recommended weight, and all our skin is clear as glass - gods and goddesses all.
Great job with losing the other goddess. Very nice work. (And I know that it was a job that required work.)
Major props to you.

Not sure how I got on this chick thread, but you forgot something in -
Rule #10: Good places to shop for men include Northwest Iron Works, Parr Lumber, Home Depot, John Deere, Valley RV Center, Menards, Fleet Farms, and Lees Schwab Tire. NAPA Auto Parts and Sear's Clearance Centers are also excellent men's stores.
CIRCUIT CITY...mmmmmmm...drool...
And thanks for the Oldies link.

It's a chick thread, in a way, and yet it's a way cool thread for thinking folks in another way.
I happen to like really smart chicks, and hope that you do also.
God love you and bless you for your service to our country. A great evening is wished for you and yours. ;-)

I just got back from the Hannity and Colmes show.
First is Oliver North, then a border guard, then a big fight between Debbie Schussel and a Muslim and then me.
Oh, did I mention that Sean picked my question and I am the first person up at the microphone?
It was an interesting night, lots of fun. I am in a big storm right now and my Dish is out. Bummer.

Jim, I am getting that image again on my screen. I am going to email it to you.

Is he smart enough to write secret code to place the Tipster's wishes on the net?
This is so amazing to me.

I am so glad this isn't just a chicks thread. You bring so much good stuff to FR and the Guild just wouldn't be the same without you.
