Btw, your solution to my plant problem was perfect. We had just put thingies under the plants to keep the pots up off of the new deck. Since we have started watching for accumulated water, the plants are much happier ...... and we killed off a bunch of mosquito larvae, too. In view of the presence of West Nile virus around here, that is a good thing.
Also, the azaleas we had planted out front were not doing well at all. We were blaming it on the drought, though that was the one place we were splurging and continuing to water regularly. Then one day a technician for the company we now have coming to spray our yard for weeds, etc. came by ..... he took one look at the plants and told us we had lace bugs. We've sprayed them several times and the plants are looking much better ..... and are beginning to show some color for their fall blooming ....... :-)
Yes ...lace bugs are common ... but the solution is simple. This pleases me!
