AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 607) [Remember the Trade Center!!]

Finally, an end to the week. School is out, the game begins in an hour and a half. I've decided to host a middle school film festival in my classroom between school and games, though, so a bunch of kids are here watching, The Hound of the Baskervilles.The school admin might not be pleased with me, but the kids like me.

This has been a rough work week for me, but it turns out that I'm coming through in good fashion. I am NOT assigning a horrible great amount of homework as has been demonstrated by the logs the kids are required to have signed and turn in each week.
AND, the student who I said needed special ed intervention LAST YEAR (and I was refused and told to modify and work with it), HAS been recommended for diagnosis and intervention by two of our brand new teachers from outside the system. The admin is finally listening. They asked me, "why didn't you notice this last year?" Fortunately, I have documentation that I did.
AND, after being told that I'm too stressed out and was summarily relieved of my afternoon math class, ALL MY MATH STUDENTS MADE A's AND B's ON THE TEST GIVEN TODAY. I will feel vindicated as I sit by the pool sipping my cool beverage.

I guess that's all for now. I had wanted to go to the beach tomorrow, but that is being postponed for a while. Big sigh.

Wow... that sounds great.

I have got quite a class this year. 20 students who haven't quite figured out there are others in the room. (Quite a change from last year.)My first graders are a handful, so I really have my work cut out for me.

Its amazing though... there always seems to be some children that are just good kids, no matter what. They are my salvation.

Hang in there. You sound like you're a great teacher to me. (Would love to see your film.)
