If one wants to know truth one must go to the source of truth, God. Not private interpretation. The book of Revelation states that man can not add to it. It does not say God won't. Also Revelation was written chronologically before 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John even though John was the author of all of them.

As you pointed out there will be many false teachers in the latter days. Does that also mean there will be true teachers authorized by God? What if there is a church started in these days by Jesus? I belive there are authorized teachers and that he still gives revelations to "powerful men". Having said that though, I am not going to make the attempt to convince you! As another poster said to someone, I'll just agree to disagree. But thanks for your insight!

Like I said, the bible is so simple you have to have someone help you misinterpret it. Do you read the bible daily? How often do you read through the entire bible? This is the only way you will ever know that you know the truth. The Apostle Paul said twice that even if an angel from heaven teach any gospel other that what you have heard from us, let him be accursed (anathema, eternally damned). You can't go by men's ideas or what you feel.

The book of Revelation states that man can not add to it. It does not say God won't. Also Revelation was written chronologically before 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John even though John was the author of all of them.

The book of Revelation is the culmination of all prophecy of all the books of the bible. The prophetic history of the church is outlined in Revelation 3 & 4. There is no hint that Jesus would reject his church and choose a group of polygamists in Utah to reveal his 'new' truth to. I must tell you honestly the things your 'prophets' declare would be laughable knowing your other 'ideas of men', like a 'temple' in the church age, having church leaders verify your tithing (how Nicolaitane), and this secrecy to the extent of not allowing parents to attend their own children's weddings because your big building is so holy. Classic trimmings. I am always amazed when people reject the truth the things they will believe.

I belive there are authorized teachers and that he still gives revelations to "powerful men".

Indeed, the men who are my pastors and teachers are the greatest bible scholars alive today, and they stand on the shoulders of the giants of history. Believe me, I would find humorous the revelations of your 'powerful men' with what I do know about your church.

Having said that though, I am not going to make the attempt to convince you! As another poster said to someone, I'll just agree to disagree. But thanks for your insight!

Nor do I have any delusion I can persuade you. But I do pray that you will see in the typology of Abraham, Isaac, and the servant, God would, as he said, provide Himself a sacrifice, and Jesus would step out of eternity and become that lamb of God on that same hill, 2000 years later, that takes away the sin of the world, then sit at God's right hand while the Holy Spirit (the unnamed servant) draws the Son a bride (Rebeccah) from a Gentile nation and give her gifts (of the Holy Spirit) to hear from God. Jesus did not get up and go to the Gentile nation and talk to another woman to help him out.
