Many prayers for you and your family - gee, especially your mother. May the Lord provide all of you with His comfort.
AMEN!!!! Not only to those sentences, but to your entire rant.
Actually, getting angry is a very purifying experience ~~ to bad more people don't try it.
I don't think I have time or energy to read through today's thread so if this is has been posted, ignore it. The Opinion Journal today had an article reviewing the best and worst of September 11 books. This part may interest you members of the Michael Ledeen fan club.
These are books that transcend mere descriptive narrative and seek to fix a value--political, philosophical or strategic--on the events of 9/11 and their aftermath. A lively example of the type is "The War Against the Terror Masters" by Michael A. Ledeen (St. Martin's, 262 pages, $24.95). A scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, Mr. Ledeen attempts to put the war against terror in context by raising three questions: "Why did it happen? Where do we stand today? How will we win?"The author wears his learning lightly, and his views are expressed in a pithy way. (Ayatollah Khomeini, in an early chapter, is described as "the Henry Ford of Islamic terrorism" for inventing the idea of exporting terror, which others may now copy.) The book is at its best in its most indignant passages, as when Mr. Ledeen excoriates a succession of CIA directors for killing off the practice of espionage by showing a "contempt for spycraft"--a phrase Mr. Ledeen applies in particular to John Deutch, who was at the CIA in 1995-96. But just as responsible for our vulnerability to terrorist attack as these men is Bill Clinton, whose administration, we are told, spurned more than one opportunity to corral Osama bin Laden in 1996. Mr. Ledeen would have us demolish the "terror masters"--by which he means the regimes of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia--if we are to ensure the longevity of our way of life.
"Remember the great field of labour is yourself. That is your first task, the weeding, the planting, digging, pruning, bearing fruit. When that is done, I lead you out into other fields."
Certainly, ATRW is one of those fields!
Jemian...ROFLOL...I can just see myself humming under my breath or pretending to be deaf. I told her today (for the 190th time) that I don't have a passport; they will have to use my license, and if they don't believe me (like someone would actually make it up that they live in Florida, give me a break!!) then I guess they'll just have to keep me there.
illstillbe....I am hoping that the Elvis impersonator will rear his head again....it actually was fun.
The reason my Dad was on morphine was because of the pain in his right side. They do not know if it was because the blood clots were breaking up and/or moving. My Mom just called me a little while ago and told me that the Cumadin worked very well...his blood level was 3.3. However, the lung doctor they saw today said that the bronoscopy may not be possible because the mass is so low. So he is trying to figure out how to find out what it is. He (the doctor) is also taking over the 2nd catscan to the hospital tonight to look at it with the radiologist. Now there's another complication. The catscan they did on his stomach shows some swelling. They do not know if that is from the irritation or something else. They changed his pain medicine (again) from Lortab to Darvocet because they think the codeine in the Lortab was causing his upset stomach. The lung doctor told them that this is getting more and more complicated and really didn't give them any answers because he just doesn't know until the radiologist looks at them. They want to find out if the blood clots on the 2nd catscan are new or the same ones. If you are not able to follow this, don't feel bad. I can barely follow it all. All I know is that I am getting very good at being able to detect good news or bad news just by the tone of my mother's voice when she says "Hello". Oh, sheesh...and my poor Dad. I feel so sorry for them and I wish I could be there with them. Now I am waiting to hear what the doctor has to say tonight after he and the radiologist get together. He is suppossed to call my parents.
This is all making for a tense situation at home; and I know that I am more than likely difficult to deal with right now. I do not yell or scream or stamp my feet; I just curl up and go into my own little world. I really really REALLY DO NOT want to go to Canada...I am in no mood to put up with their crap.
Okay. Now that I have vented to all of you, I will get off my pity pot and pack some clothes or something. LOL..I don't even have a DRESS yet to wear to the wedding. I'll just find something in the closet and throw it in the suitcase and hope I can find a pair of shoes that match it. ;-)
Prayers for your Dad and Mom ...... and *hugs* and prayers for you.
