I know EXACTLY what you mean illsie, I'm forever telling Him not to forget so and so or what's to be done, then I ask Him if I've forgotten anything. Sometimes in the middle of the night I remember, then I'm wide awake. He gets even, when we get bossy.

Deej - I'm so glad to hear from you. Was getting worried you know.

Many prayers for you and your family - gee, especially your mother. May the Lord provide all of you with His comfort.

But there are places for memorials and flowers and crosses and monuments. They are called cemeteries.

AMEN!!!! Not only to those sentences, but to your entire rant.

Actually, getting angry is a very purifying experience ~~ to bad more people don't try it.

Ugh! Had to change a flat tire on I-24 right as rush hour traffic was whizzing by today. Then made it to a very hillbilly place (sorry if that makes me seem elitist) where I got great service and a used tired. Not sure what my next step is, but I'm tired and hungry.

I don't think I have time or energy to read through today's thread so if this is has been posted, ignore it. The Opinion Journal today had an article reviewing the best and worst of September 11 books. This part may interest you members of the Michael Ledeen fan club.

These are books that transcend mere descriptive narrative and seek to fix a value--political, philosophical or strategic--on the events of 9/11 and their aftermath. A lively example of the type is "The War Against the Terror Masters" by Michael A. Ledeen (St. Martin's, 262 pages, $24.95). A scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, Mr. Ledeen attempts to put the war against terror in context by raising three questions: "Why did it happen? Where do we stand today? How will we win?"

The author wears his learning lightly, and his views are expressed in a pithy way. (Ayatollah Khomeini, in an early chapter, is described as "the Henry Ford of Islamic terrorism" for inventing the idea of exporting terror, which others may now copy.) The book is at its best in its most indignant passages, as when Mr. Ledeen excoriates a succession of CIA directors for killing off the practice of espionage by showing a "contempt for spycraft"--a phrase Mr. Ledeen applies in particular to John Deutch, who was at the CIA in 1995-96. But just as responsible for our vulnerability to terrorist attack as these men is Bill Clinton, whose administration, we are told, spurned more than one opportunity to corral Osama bin Laden in 1996. Mr. Ledeen would have us demolish the "terror masters"--by which he means the regimes of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia--if we are to ensure the longevity of our way of life.

gc, when I read this portion of a meditation this morning, I thought of you and ISB:

"Remember the great field of labour is yourself. That is your first task, the weeding, the planting, digging, pruning, bearing fruit. When that is done, I lead you out into other fields."

Certainly, ATRW is one of those fields!

Thank you for noticing I was missing. :-) Seems to be that lately I can't please anyone around my house here and I am getting a tad fed up with it. All I want to do is sleep and everyone else to just leave me ALONE! If my mother-in-law sends me one more stinkin' email about my niece's birthday, I am going to scream! If Mr. DJ tells me I have to do one more thing for this stupid trip, I am going to rip my hair out...I guess I am a bit depressed, no? Thank God I don't drink anymore.

Jemian...ROFLOL...I can just see myself humming under my breath or pretending to be deaf. I told her today (for the 190th time) that I don't have a passport; they will have to use my license, and if they don't believe me (like someone would actually make it up that they live in Florida, give me a break!!) then I guess they'll just have to keep me there.

illstillbe....I am hoping that the Elvis impersonator will rear his head again....it actually was fun.

The reason my Dad was on morphine was because of the pain in his right side. They do not know if it was because the blood clots were breaking up and/or moving. My Mom just called me a little while ago and told me that the Cumadin worked very well...his blood level was 3.3. However, the lung doctor they saw today said that the bronoscopy may not be possible because the mass is so low. So he is trying to figure out how to find out what it is. He (the doctor) is also taking over the 2nd catscan to the hospital tonight to look at it with the radiologist. Now there's another complication. The catscan they did on his stomach shows some swelling. They do not know if that is from the irritation or something else. They changed his pain medicine (again) from Lortab to Darvocet because they think the codeine in the Lortab was causing his upset stomach. The lung doctor told them that this is getting more and more complicated and really didn't give them any answers because he just doesn't know until the radiologist looks at them. They want to find out if the blood clots on the 2nd catscan are new or the same ones. If you are not able to follow this, don't feel bad. I can barely follow it all. All I know is that I am getting very good at being able to detect good news or bad news just by the tone of my mother's voice when she says "Hello". Oh, sheesh...and my poor Dad. I feel so sorry for them and I wish I could be there with them. Now I am waiting to hear what the doctor has to say tonight after he and the radiologist get together. He is suppossed to call my parents.

This is all making for a tense situation at home; and I know that I am more than likely difficult to deal with right now. I do not yell or scream or stamp my feet; I just curl up and go into my own little world. I really really REALLY DO NOT want to go to Canada...I am in no mood to put up with their crap.

Okay. Now that I have vented to all of you, I will get off my pity pot and pack some clothes or something. LOL..I don't even have a DRESS yet to wear to the wedding. I'll just find something in the closet and throw it in the suitcase and hope I can find a pair of shoes that match it. ;-)

illsie, you're thinking of being a sky-police? Iwonder if they take little ole ladies who can destroy an apponent with a rolled up newpaper or magazine, or one who can handle a handgun. #293. You make poetic prose when you post.

Purdue Pete. I know how you feel. I'm so sick and tired of these loud mouthed, scared mice on our airways, I could stick one of Roomey's dirty socks in their mouth, and the average person would not do that to an enemy, the socks are that bad.

Dog....illsie's litterbox is one of those that self clean, so when we join her in the fox hole, not to worry, your paws are always clean.

Jemain, if it's Goo we're worried about, "Let the Goo Begin", do we wear shorts or swim suits?

Chair, you are right, we have changed in the Right Way. Even some of the presstitutes mention the name of our Lord with reverence.

Utah Girl, was your liberal friend walking with a white stick? Mensch, her thinking has One Huge Blind Spot. I've seen the destruction caused by Hitler, when the American Air Force decided, We've Had Enough

DJ, When these people start, put both index fingers up to your ears, pretend you're winding your hearing aids, then say "Darn....the batteries have gone dead again, what did you say?" It shuts them up about 99% of the time. I do it, but then I wear hearing aids. Prayers of strength for you and your family.

Dallas Girl, prayers for your family and your Dad.

Snowtrill, how is /john's Dad doing? Prayers to y'all. Tell him hello for us.

Kayak, you are abolutely Right-On. I've been saying this for some years. Mourning a loved one for a few months or a year, then the Purple comes off and Happy Colors are back on. We have grown a basketful of professional mourners. Called the presstitutes. They would rather bring down the morale of our great country than put some grit in their backbone and make them fighting mad to do something about these spineless, hiding, sneaky terrorists.

I'm off my soap box. My martini is waiting. Relax time.

Tomorrow, I'll say Howdy, then into the basement for more of what I've been doing. Tomorrow, I think it will be a river, cliffs and trees.

How is it that, the sound of one of your posts is comforting. I know you are in the middle of a tornado. But, your ability to express yourself is pleasing.

Do you have a dress that is comfortable? Wear that and dance with your hubby. Enjoy his company to the max. Don't do this wedding as punishment for you, but as time to re-affirm your vows and forget everything for a few minutes.

All your worries rest easy in God's hands. Really!

Hi Deej! Thanks for venting. You came to the right place for that because, well, we're ATRWers. Prayers for your dear ol' dad and mom. And for you to have the grace to go through with the trip and everything else on your plate.

By the way, I can't remember if you have been here since I changed my name from Singapore_Yank.

Thanks, (((kayak)))..I really, really needed that hug. *smiles*

tillacum...I am going to buy a big pair of those pitch black glasses that Stevie Wonder wears and a cane and a hearing aid and then I can walk around the hotel and if anyone says anything stupid to me, I will "accidentally" hit them with the cane while singing "Isn't She Precious!"

still lurking...I will more than likely have fun when I get there. It's just all the work it takes to get there that I hate.. ;-)

Okay. I have got a SPLITTING HEADACHE so I am going to sign off the computer and go sit with the kiddos. :-)

:-) Yes, I remember when you changed your name. :-) Thanks...it's very comforting to know that you guys don't mind me venting here. I can't vent to my Mom; hubby's family doesn't seem to care; kids don't know and Mr. DJ is "busy".

Chair....thank you for your post...I've missed you guys...alot. :-)

Chair....thank you for your post...

You're welcome. You take good care of yourself - and keep providing your parents your love and support (though I'm certain I don't need to remind you of that!). :)))
