In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. And I do many things to encourage my avoidance. Wild eyed stares, expletives, walking around muttering to myself, and numerous copies of Soldier of Fortune Magazine on my desk.... to name a few.

yikes. i worked at the language lab when i was in college and met many arab students but would never have considered even dating one. of course, it was called Arabia back then....; )
