You can go to the family's website (www.elizabethsmart.com) and send them an anonymous tip.
You can sign up for a hotmail account, and put in a false name, address, city and state -- and send it from a library's computer, and there is no way the info can be traced back to you.
You can send your information anonymously to a newspaper or television reporter or to Mark Klass.
If you send your documentation to someone, you can buy a USPO priority mail envelope or box to put it in, with no return address, and if your fingerprints are on file anywhere, wear gloves when you handle the package. Use an computer printer to address the package, and even if LE can tell what type of printer it was printed on, they won't be able to identify the actual printer. Stick a piece of tape over the label to waterproof it.
If the package weighs more than one pound, you will have to present it at a post office. In that case, put the contents in more than one package and mail the packages in two different mailboxes, in different zip code areas.
That should protect you, and get the information out to someone who will follow up on it.

Your comments seem rather emotion-driven, such as the teary-eyed short eulogy you wrote for Ricci at the top of one thread you started. He is after all still a human being. Are we so calloused that we can't have compassion for another person. Granted he messed his life up tremendously, did some pretty bad things but we should judge the actions not the person. Besides, if she starts the thread she can post what ever she wants. As you can when you start one.

Cookie, I'm impressed! It sounds like maybe you've done something like this a time or two. :o)

Nah. My life is nowhere near that exciting! :-)

I know that both of us have young kids so that does provide a certain level of daily excitement. Some days I think I've had about all the excitement I can handle. LOL

"WE JUST NEED MORE PROOF A BODY"--by scaredkat
"Yes, a corpus delicti is always handy to solve a case."--by varina davis
"CORPUS DELICTI--The body of a crime...The corpus delicti of a crime is the body or substance of the crime, which ordinarily includes two elements: the act and the criminal agency of the act."--Black's Law Dictionary.
IOW, there's more to corpus delicti than just the body of a murder victim.

I was very interested in your account of your early summer visit to the cabin, and the mine, and all that. Could you tell us which police department responded to your calls? Are you saying the two sets of tracks led to the entrance to the mine, but only one set of tracks led away from it?
What was even more intriguing, and (no offense meant) seemed incredible to me is that, if I read you right, you claimed TWO connections to this case: 1) the incident with the cabin, the tracks, and the mine, and 2) the fact that the house across the street from your sister's was searched. That's the house that used to be owned by Richard Dean Miller, in West Jordan--did I get that right?
Are you sure that this Miller guy, this convicted person, OWNED the house at one time? I looked up the name Miller in West Jordan, and there are several there. Would you look for Millers (at anywho.com) in West Jordan and tell me if you think any of the Millers listed live near where you say Richard Dean Miller used to live? (You don't have to specify which ones.)
I am nowhere near Utah, btw, and have never been there.
I had never heard that the Smarts had a cabin in Brighton. Not saying they don't, would like to know for sure. Isn't Brighton only about 30 miles from SLC? I don't think the "cabin" they were going to move into was in or near Brighton.

I think I see what you're saying, that the pictures of Ricci with the short hair, and the pic of Miller, do look somewhat alike.
But the physical description of Ricci was never what caused him to be suspected in this case, at least not the primary thing. To the contrary (at least in my mind), the discrepancy btw the features of the man MK described, and Ricci's features, seemed to argue against Ricci being the man who went into the girls' bedroom.
How do you know Ricci knew Miller and knew the person who Miller sold his house to? I'm not doubting you, I really would like to know.

One of your points with Angela's LKL interview was that she had to know more about what Moul said than what she indicated on the LKL show.
Until yesterday, I thought Moul said that Ricci was wearing the machete on his belt when he returned the car. It turned out unidentified sources said this according to one ABC news article and this was after the machete was found in the father-in-law's shed.
I can't find one article that says Moul said this. There are many aspects of this case that are being overlooked.
I have a machete and we use it just like the father-in-law said to cut small branches and vines. The machete was returned by the police and the police said they could find no connection to this case. When you think about it, it really doesn't make sense that Ricci would wear a machete returning the car.

Thanks for the post. I going back to reread scaredkat's posts about Brighton.

I realize your post was not directed to me, but:
I read that one of Ed's sisters was married to the son of a politician. I think the politician was a former congressman or something like that.
I classify myself in the "Ricci-may-have-done-it" category. In my opinion, the family is always suspect in things like this. However, we have not heard of any family members whose alibis did not stand up--even Tom.
If a family member did this, surely they did it by proxy or MK would have named them right away? Then, why would they choose such a convoluted and dangerous means of spiriting away Elizabeth, who could surely have been accessible to them in someplace other than her bedroom? A family member would have known that MK would be there in the bedroom--surely they'd want to find a way to take Elizabeth without having a witness. Why all the immediate publicity? It's not like they had a dead body to explain, as the Ramseys did. Often one hears of a person who was killed by family or ex-family; usually the family or ex-family suspect buys time by claiming the person is on a trip, or something like that. If Ed or Lois did it, when did they have time to dispose of the body? They have been very much in the public eye since the morning of June 5.

I'm pretty sure I either read an article where Moul said Ricci was wearing a machette or heard him say it in an interview but it was a long time ago. The police said they got no forensic evidence from the machette. I don't remember that they returned it. Ricci's lawyer never contested the allegation that Ricci was wearing one. Why else would the police be looking for one? Your problem is, like all your friends, you start with the premise your heroin addict hero Ricci is innocent and work back and say if this is incriminating it didn't happen. You'll never get it with this prejudiced perspective. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
