I am shocked and surprised that sandude, JG, and UG would so blatantly disrespect and slander a member of their own church.

It has nothing to do with religion Palladin. I've said from the start, let the chips fall where they may. If the evidence points towards somebody from my faith then I am going to want to see that person prosecuted.

No, but you definitely implied that the American people in general are easily conned.

BINGO! You got that one right.

I never cease to be amazed by the ignorance of the American public.

I've just been reading some old news articles, and found information that Angela Ricci was asked in her grand jury testimony if she had taken any medication the night of Elizabeth's abduction. Here is the quote from this article:

**********************
Angela Ricci, who has problems sleeping due to recent back surgery, turned off the TV and went to bed between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., Smith said.

Sometime in the early morning hours of June 5, Angela Ricci felt Richard Ricci get out of bed to use the bathroom, but then he returned. Richard Ricci was in the bed when she woke up early to go to work about 6 a.m., Smith said.

Questions were raised Wednesday about whether Angela Ricci was taking medications that would cause her to fall into a deep sleep so she wouldn't have been able to detect whether her husband was in bed the whole night. Smith said Angela Ricci is confident in her story and that her information is truthful.

**********************
This article is from the Deseret News, dated 6/27/2002. You bet the detectives and prosecutors were watching tonight's interview on LKL, they're watching to see if Angela's interview matches with what she testified to in her grand jury testimony.

Grand jury focuses on Ricci

Excuse me? I said that anything is possible, I do believe in repentance and that men's hearts and actions can be changed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I think he may have been nervously looking over his shoulder because of what they may have had in his friend's blue van.

Very good point. I was thinking earlier today that maybe Liz was put in a temporary grave and that's what they were doing on the 8th. Removing her so that she could be put somewhere more permanent. But if he was at work all day then that wouldn't make sense unless he was working someplace where nobody would be supervising. Maybe there was a place at the back of the nursery that provided a temporary resting place. Perhaps he left the job site to take care of this little chore and was in a hurry to get back so he could clock out. Just some speculation but...

I beg your pardon. And what have I lied about Joe?

As a wise man once said, "The first shall be last, and the last shall be first".

This man lived to his last conscious moment stonewalling the Smart family, the police, and the American public on this most horrible human tragedy and took all the information he had to the grave. There was no deathbed confession, no repentance or asking for salvation like the thief on the cross. I might add his wife is continuing the stonewalling by not offering all the information her husband told his lawyers pertinent to the Elizabeth Smart case to the public.

I do not believe the Smarts EVER thought Ricci had anything to do with the case.

From an older article...

**************************
An emotional Edward Smart lashed out Friday at Richard Albert Ricci, pleading with the handyman to come clean with what he knows about Elizabeth's kidnapping.

A visibly irritated Ed Smart said that Ricci lied to him once about stealing items from his home and there's no reason to believe he won't lie about other things.

When items were stolen from the Smart's home, Smart said Ricci twice looked him in the eye and said, "I did not take that merchandise."

Now that Ricci has admitted to the thefts after his June 14 arrest on a parole violation, Smart asked him to come forward with what he may know about the kidnapping now.

"In finding out about the theft, it can't help but make me feel that Richard is involved," Smart said.

Smart urges Ricci to 'come forward'

# 745 - my apologies - my lack of wit...which sometimes seems to escape me on this thread.

If it is correct that under UT law, Angela can waive the attorney/client privilege on Ricci's behalf, the waiver can extend to all of his attorneys.

It will be interesting to see if she executes a waiver of the privilege and permits any information the attorneys possess about Ricci's involvement in Smart case to be made public or at least known to the police and the Smarts.

If Angela is able to do this, and does not, then I will suspect there is something she wants to hide.

It may turn out that there is nothing to hide, either because that is the actual case or because Ricci did not confide in his attorneys.

On a side note, drug addicts and criminals are often masters at conning people. People who are being conned, by definition, do not realize it.

But if he was at work all day...

We haven't heard from a credible source he worked on Jun 8. Angela said something obscure that tended to imply it but I'm still undecided on just when he worked and when he didn't until I hear something specific from someone credible. Even his boss was as obscure as possible and wouldn't say when he worked and when he was off.

Very good points cookie. Did you see LKL? She sure didn't look like she wanted to waive that privilege.

No I didn't see it. I figured I'd just read the transcript.

If she can waive the privilege, I'm sure there will be people calling upon her to do that. If she refuses to do it, she must be hiding something.

Don't beg mine, beg His.

I have taken His name upon myself and strive to live my life in accordance with the examples that He gave us. I do ask him for forgiveness and will continue to for as long as I walk this earth. Why do you feel the need to call me to repentance?

You are no help, dahlink! I shouldn't say that - actually, I like you - in a strange sort of way.

There are some holes here. The mileage on the Jeep is not accounted for. It will be interesting to find out what Richard's real timeline was during this period. Such a complex puzzle, more pieces please.

The thing actors, politicians, and ex-convicts have in common is that, when they talk to you, there is no possible way you can know if they are lying. I've learned that generally they are only lying when their lips are moving.
