My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.

He may be having financial problems, but this is a very large extended family whose members have time to take off from work and talk to the media everyday.

If you had 25 relatives in a large extended family that care, each could put up $1,000. I'm sure some of them have lost that much in the time taken off from work to talk to the media.

Also the Bishop of the Church was involved and other Church members could put up some money. Maybe even Sherlock and JG.

I still think $3,000 is paltry if he really thinks Ricci is involved.

Did Ed's sister just say that RR had been bragging to friends about wanting to burglarize the Smart's home? A plane was flying over and I didn't hear the whole spiel.

I wasn't home so I don't know..However, it doesn't surprise me to hear that she said this due to all the other ridiculous comments coming from them all as we've heard. Wouldn't surprise me they're all sitting around having their pow-wows and discussing what to say next to keep this story alive, and to keep suspicion away from the true perp. There's a hell of a lot more to this "amazing" story and as some posters posted earlier in this case, this story is "BIG".

Wondering where she got, or whom she got the information from? I wouldn't think that LE would give that sort of information out, well, maybe the immediate family. The family says one thing, and LE says, (paraphrasing, here) "I didn't know that." or "Not to my/our knowledge."

I heard that tonite Greta had David Smart on and she asked him if Liz had ever ridden in the white Jeep Cherokee and he said he didn't know..What?? Seems whenever ANYONE from this family is asked any questions on the tv, they don't know a thing..why bother!

Bella, even if RR had a key, how in the world would he know that the alarm system wasn't armed?? How about dogs in the house?

A dry run or two before the actual abduction would have shown what the family's habits were. If Ricci the cat burglar was the guy you can bet he cased the joint first.

Ya, he was a real fine fellow. All you have to do is forget about his five felony convictions including one for shooting a cop. Forget about the three new state charges including one for burglarizing occupied homes in the middle of the night in the neighborhood of the Smarts and with a M.O. similar to the abduction of E.S. Forget about the three new federal charges for bank robbery where he threatened employees and customers with their lives. Ya, old Richard Ricci was really a fine fellow who has been abused by the system for years.

There is a syndrome where women often become enthralled with bad guys such as Ricci, write letters to them, and some even marry them. This is a sickness, folks.

This thread needs to be bookmarked as a classic. There is more drivel posted on this thread than probably any thread in history.
