Others might disagree. At least when I mentioned the Smarts it got you to go take a look.I didn't "go take a look," I know what the Smarts look like. For all we know, the sketch might look like you, sandude. I know it probably looks likes 20 million other people in the country.

Wow, thanks for taping and watching Greta for me. Her new eyes creep me out, plus she is one lousy interviewer.

thanks for the chuckle.... tee hee....

What kind of vehicle did Javier Sickler drive?

I thought this guy had been dismissed as a crackpot. Several hundred man hours were spent chasing the dead end lead. That's my memory anyway.
It was dismissed by LE like all the other valid leads in this case with a statement to the effect 'it was nothing'. I'm surprise that you missed this sandude. Any time LE says 'it is nothing' in this case TAKE CAREFULL NOTICE. I have seen articles that dozens of people saw this guy in Emigration Canyon and heard the gunshots. Who are you going to believe, sandude?

That's what was reported on the local radio news regarding this Chad fellow... wish I had a link to take you all to.

Not to doubt you, but, would you be able to link the articles regarding the other sightings of the suspect in Emigration Canyon?
Why would the SLCPD be hiding information????? Sure seems that way if what you say is true..... (shaking my head, wondering....)

A party of 22 searchers were spread out on the side of the canyon east of Salt Lake City when some of them spotted a man in a white T-shirt and
white baseball cap between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. One of the searchers called to the man, who ran and hid in the underbrush, then several searchers heard at least two gunshots.
Searcher Matt Duvem said late Thursday that he watched the man from a ridge about a mile away, and the "guy just paced back and forth . . . I assumed he was waiting for night." Duvem said he heard two shots in rapid succession, then another seven sporadic shots.
Another searcher who gave his name only as Chad said he saw some footprints, followed them and saw the man, who appeared to be trying to obscure his own prints on a trail. Chad said he kept his distance but watched the man for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, he radioed to his companions to call the authorities.
About a dozen Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies arrived within the hour and established a perimeter around the area where the man was sighted. A helicopter with infrared equipment capable of detecting body heat was called in, as were search dogs. The man remained at large at press time.

The 9-year-old could describe the abductor only as being about 5-foot-8, white, with dark hair and wearing a light-colored jacket and a white hat with a bill, and Dinse said there were no plans to bring in a sketch artist to create a composite drawing of the suspect. "What we might get might not be accurate," said Dan Roberts, assistant special agent in charge for the Salt Lake FBI office.

Who are you going to believe, sandude? The reason I'm questioning you is I remember it going down the same as Utah Girl did. There are crackpots out there and this looked like a situation where the guy wanted to be the big shot and fabricated the story in order to get his 15 minutes of fame. There were dozens of people pouring over that canyon for 2 days but in my memory nobody else actually witnessed this man with a gun. If you can find the articles that will prove your point that would help. I just remember it differently.

The way the local radio had reported it was that the two searchers were buddies.... it would seem that this was done to discredit the sightings of the searchers. Still scratching my head on why this seems to have been covered up. Curiouser and curiouser.

What you say here is what I recall in the radio news, wonder why there's the discrepancy in the S.L.Trib.

What you say here is what I recall in the radio news, wonder why there's the discrepancy in the S.L.Trib. This article was written before they had spent two days on a wild goose chase.

Angela's photo & the artist's sketch of a suspect were on post #546. You, sandude, first posted a little less than 3 hours later on #574.
Angela has small lips. The person in the sketch doesn't.
brigette, I'm surprised at you posting such nonsense!

When I heard it was a hoax it was said the two people that saw it were father & son and they were wearing fake police badges. You can see from these articles a lot of people saw it and heard the gunshots and there is another name given. I don't think this was any hoax, sandude.
To: Sherlock
If that hole-digging, pig-roasting man was so suspicious, where's his vehicle's license plate number?
250+ pages, & I see no reference to it.
