Elizabeth Smart thread, August 31-September 7, 2002

Posted on 08/31/2002 10:26:34 AM PDT by IamHD

My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.

May he rest in peace.

Where's JG been the last few days?

He morphed into sherlock.

FOX news just said that LE is NOT going to stop the investigation

Of course they're not. They didn't think Ricci was a perpetrator anymore than many of us did. The point is, will they now investigate in places heretofore unchallenged?

How ironic that both Elizabeth and Richard are most likely in the same place now. Ricci received the last rites of the RC church, including absolution of his sins and holy anointing, which would remit all of his sins and admit him to Heaven.

This may be the belief of the RC church but I must respectfully submit this is wholly contrary to the clear teaching of the bible. This would be a tradition that has developed in the RC church in its 1500 year history. I've been studying the bible for 15 years and the concept that someone can absolve another of their sins and give some kind of a holy annointing after they die does not exist. The bible says it is the every man's personal responsibility during his lifetime to accept the pardon purchased by Jesus Christ on the cross and to abide in Christ through faith. This concept that men think they have the authority to decide whether or not to perform some ritual that will get someone into heaven and absent it send them into perdition is to say the least mind boggling.

On the other hand, the more they say, the more likely it is someone will catch them in their putrid lies and misdirections.

Maybe that's what LE is waiting for?

It is the utmost folly to argue about the religious beliefs of others.

I didn't argue, I just told you.

I agree, varina. In any case, Ricci was fortunate to be twice-blessed on his deathbed, and I will surely give him the benefit of the doubt about being in Heaven right this minute, looking down and laughing at fools like Sherlock.

How do they decide who they let in, Palladin? Do they let you in on their secret? I realize if you've been doing it that way for 1500 years you're not gonna change now just because of what Jesus had to say.

Well said, Palladin.

Too much good reasoning in your Post 51 to highlight, spore, but you raised some interesting questions/theories. Good work!

It's nice to know there is one less violent criminal we won't have to worry about again.

I wonder if Elizabeth has forgiven Dick for murdering her?

There is no proof, yet, that Elizabeth is dead, just as there is no proof that Ricci kidnapped her.

Doctors do not know what caused Ricci's hemorrhage, Skalabrin said, but it was not an aneurysm.

I would have thought an aneursym was the most likely. This continues to get weirder by the day.

Your 'opinion' says more about you than it does about the Smarts. LOW LOW LOW

It's really a shame that you can't read either, if you knew how to read, you'd see and know that the first sentence tells you that it's from another board and NOT my opinion, as you accused me of! YOU are LOWER than LOW to accuse me of that post being MY opinion...You need to start over in grade school quickly and learn how to read since it's apparent that you're dyslexic.

"I would have thought an aneursym was the most likely."

Either that, or a blood clot that travelled, so, now what? A couple good whacks on the back of the head with a rubber hose? Poisoning? I've been told that hitting with a rubber hose does not leave bruising..don't know if it's true or not, though.

Not only are they weirder by the day, but the stories keep changing.

I think $3,000 is chicken feed with Ed's money. I know I could raise more than $3,000 if I thought Ricci had someting to do with it and I'm sure Ed has more money than me.

From what I've read on a couple other boards from people living in SLC and one in the same area, they said that Ed was having financial troubles, and since I'm not from SLC, I don't know. We have no way to find out since I'm certain the LE wouldn't publicize this and definitely wouldn't want this info to get out to the media and to the public worldwide. Also, as we have clearly seen, there's many unanswered questions and many feel the family has not been forthcoming in many ways..so who really knows what's going on with this case.
