Survivor V: Thailand
Your Ad Here

Posted on 08/26/2002 4:36:57 PM PDT by YourAdHere

Survivor V kicks off on Thursday September 19th, and since a lot of us Freepers had fun speculating on Marquesas, I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the upcoming series.

The bios are out, which you can check out here, and there's already been scandal associated with two of the castaways.

First there's Brian, an actor/used car salesman, who neglected to tell the show that he had a few "blue" movies in his past. They cast a porn star!

Then there's Tonya. Her story could have a lasting impact on the outcome of the show. Shortly before filming came to an end, Tonya's father back in Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident. Reports are that she was immediately evacuated from the island.

If Tonya was one of the first 7 people ejected from the show, then her departure would have no impact on the outcome. However, if she made it past the merger and either onto the jury or in the final two, then that could mean one less vote in the final two, or something even stranger. Only time will tell.

The most lukewarm favorite I've ever had on Survivor is this episode's version -- Clay.

I agree. It's not that I want him to win so much as it is I want him to keep the others from winning.

Well, one could argue that at least if Clay won it would also partially be a vindication of the other Southern gentleman who SHOULD have won -- Judge Pappy!

He is a very good player. I don't like him but he is playing well. He might have overplayed his hand though.

I don't understand why the others voted for Penny over Jake.

Interesting. 4 votes Penny. 3 votes Jake and 1 vote Jan. Split in the tribe?

I thought for sure Jake would be a goner. I suspect Ted is more out of the running than Clay when it comes down to the final 2. I am totally amazed Jan has hung in there this long. See you all next week. Although it will probably be a boring episode.

It doesn't seem to make any sense to get rid of Penny when they could get rid of Jake. Jake has a much better chance of getting immunity than Penny.

My only thought is this....perhaps this was a bone thrown to Ted. His feelings were hurt after the Brian/Clay trip. And he approached them about getting rid of Penny. Maybe Brian thought this would help keep Ted trusting them.

Here's what I want to happen. Jake is gone next. Then, Helen and Jan go to Ted and convince him to ally with them to get rid of Brian, then Clay. Why would Ted do this?

Best he can do with Brian and Clay is #3. The best he can do with Helen and Jan is #3, but he has a much better chance to get immunity.

I vote Helen and Jan for the final two :)

How will Clay explain to Brian & Ted his reason for voting for Jake at the last second? (Just becuase he didn't like what Jake said before the vote.)

Sounds like a little too much confidence to me.
