Survivor V: Thailand
Your Ad Here

Posted on 08/26/2002 4:36:57 PM PDT by YourAdHere

Survivor V kicks off on Thursday September 19th, and since a lot of us Freepers had fun speculating on Marquesas, I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the upcoming series.

The bios are out, which you can check out here, and there's already been scandal associated with two of the castaways.

First there's Brian, an actor/used car salesman, who neglected to tell the show that he had a few "blue" movies in his past. They cast a porn star!

Then there's Tonya. Her story could have a lasting impact on the outcome of the show. Shortly before filming came to an end, Tonya's father back in Tennessee was tragically killed in a car accident. Reports are that she was immediately evacuated from the island.

If Tonya was one of the first 7 people ejected from the show, then her departure would have no impact on the outcome. However, if she made it past the merger and either onto the jury or in the final two, then that could mean one less vote in the final two, or something even stranger. Only time will tell.

SURVIVOR - PING

As always, if you want on or off the ping list, FReepmail me.

THE PLAYERS
Brian, Clay, Helen, Jake, Jan, Penny, Ted

THE JURY
Erin, Ken

THE LOSERS
John, Tanya, Jed, Ghandia, Stephanie, Robb, Shii Ann

Good Morning everybody!

Have you ever found yourself watching a TV show (or movie for that matter), see an actor on the screen and say to yourself, “Where have I seen that face before?” And it drives you nuts thinking about it until you can’t think of anything else?

Well that’s exactly what happened to yours truly last week. Mrs. Cuz and I were watching “Without a Trace” (a new series on CBS, right after CSI and Survivor), when an “Actor” appeared on the screen that I just knew I had seen before. This particular “Actor” portrayed a “Brutha from the Hood”, a “Gang-Banger” that went by the street name of “Radio”. Anyway, this character talked the “good kids” into robbing a donut shop and ended up getting himself shot in the back by a dirty cop. The show ended with me still racking my feeble brain trying to put a name to this “actor” and it wasn’t until yesterday that I discovered what that name was!

Anyway, here is:

CUZ’S WEEKLY WEAKLY SURVIVOR PICS!

Well, it appears from the promos that this weeks reward challenge is yet another obstacle course. The players, crawl on their bellies under a bamboo grid and walk on top of narrow boards. The winner receives a “day away on the mainland”, an elephant ride, and another feast. The winner “shocks” everyone by taking another player with him/her instead of an obvious alliance mate. My guess is that Brian wins the reward challenge and instead of taking Ted with him, he takes Jake, only as a “last hurrah” before Jake gets the boot.

The immunity challenge appears to be a torch snuffing similar to last seasons “coconut chopping” challenge. The players probably answer questions and a correct answer permits the contestants to “snuff” one of the other player’s three torches. The last player with a lit torch wins immunity, and from the vidcaps it appears as if Jan wins immunity.

As far as who get the boot tonight, I think it’s a given that the “Pagonging” of Chewy Gum will continue. And since Jake is a bigger immunity threat than Penny will ever be, I think Jake will be joining Erin and Ken on the Jury.

So, in a nut shell, Brian wins reward, Jan wins Immunity, Jake gets booted.

Oh, and BTW, the “actor” on the TV show was none other then our favorite Race-Baiter from Survivor; Marquesas – Sean Rector.

Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow with my re-cap.
Enjoy,

You got one. Although you missed it on who Brian will take with him.

Seeing Sean in WOAT was a shocker. I knew I knew that guy but I couldn't place where from.

I'm not far behind you. The most lukewarm favorite I've ever had on Survivor is this episode's version -- Clay. I like that he is Southern (& to a lot of folks sounds dim, but as shown by last week's challenge, clearly isn't). I guess it's also partly that the show is showing its age and partly that the producers are not picking perhaps the best contestants -- at least from my aging baby boomer perspective!

agreed. It is now a matter of "Who do I dislike the least?" Of course 2&3 were the only ones where the people I liked made it to the end.

Can't believe Helen. Thought it was bad acting but now she seems to actually believe what she's saying to Jake.
