I Am Reinstating My Previously Witheld Monthly Payment To FR

Giving priority to what is most important, I have decided to swallow my pride. I had a dustup with a moderator. I lost. Though I think the moderators need a tuneup they ain't so bad really. I depend on them to keep this site from becomming a free for all whacko hate site. I used to push the abuse button quite frequently on my fave undesirables ... anti-semite, haters. I notice they're a bit thin around here lately.

It is most important that Free Republic live and thrive. It is less important that I get things my way around here. Though I do not agree completely with the proposition that it is Jim's site and he can do with it what he damn will pleases ... It's as much our site, collectively, as it is his now. Perhaps Jim does ride herd a bit too hard on this creation he gave birth to. Fact is I don't know. I simply don't have enough information.

But it is a given that FR is the best there is at what it does. If it's only my morning paper and a place to exercise my verbal skills ... it's worth supporting. Now is the time for all level headed thinking FReepers to come to the aid of our wounded friend ... Free Republic.

All that does, is to help the Dems ; usually. It may make you " feel " better / superior / wise or whatever ; however, in reality, you are doing absolutely nothing to further your cause. Like a two year old, with a dreadful case of the " terrible two's ". you're holding your breathe and throwing a temper tanturm. The only difference is, you still won't get what you claim to want and no one, not a single person, with Conservative leanings ( at the least ), in government, will take your positions into considerations . You lose on all accounts.

Instead of seein a glass 1/2 full or 1/2 empty, you see an empty glass. It's ALL or nothing, with you and that means that you'll always get NOTHING ! That reality; whether you will accept that or not ... it's the truth.

Exactly the answer I expected. I could probably have written it for you.

What's even funnier is that all the while you and your ilk believe in your uniqueness, you demonstrate a cookie cutter image as vivid as any other party faithful. Believe it or not, the 3rd party genre is pretty monolithic; perhaps more so than the two major parties.

It's easy.........just hate everything and reject all establishment candidates. It doesn't take long at all to learn the game. Truth is, you're really not independent at all.

Yeah, and President Bush wasn't my choice in the primaries, either, but he certainly shines with integrity and honor. What a change from the previous 8 years! We haven't gotten ourselves into this fiscal and societal mess overnight and it won't be solved overnight, either.

I am sure the reasonable and prudent Texasforever realises this. Again, it is time for the bloodletting to stop.

That I agree with. I get impatient though and it often seems that nothing is happening to even begin to indicate a reversal of direction.

So, in essence, we almost have two opposing parties here. It's always assumed that we are basically on the same page, but we're not. In many cases our goals are completely opposite.

I agree and with the differences I don't see a solution.

The 3rd party-ites spend their time "holding Bush's feet to the fire" - while the democrats take over the country.

The Bushites spend their time taking up for Bush against them tearing our president down on a conservative site that should represent pro-GOP goals and support for our president - while the democrats take over the country.

I again wonder if it is time for FreeRepublic to be two divisions - the 3rd party/Libertarians and the GOP supporters. Both could work in their own way for their goals and hopefully both will then fight the democrats and win elections for more conservative running of this government.

We are not helping our country by using this site for these petty ego trips. Both sides need to cool it and act like adults - not high school or frat party games.

Victimhood from this day forth will take on a whole new meaning when someone who violated the basic rule of posting someone's personal information on this forum is apologized to for being justly suspended for his actions by the founder and owner of this forum.

Rules are in place for a reason and when someone gets suspended for violating them is begged to return even though he has all of his posting priveledges restored, and his absense is a choice he is making is the most rediculous thing I have seen on this forum.

Jim, I'm surprized you find it neccessary to apologize to Registered for suspending him, I witnessed the outburst that got him suspended, and if he isn't man enough to accept the fact that he violated YOUR rules, than to hell with him. IMHO he owes a few people an apology and I hardly think he deserves one.... I never thought I would be saying this, But I feel you are disregarding your principles by apologizing to someone who earned his suspension. If he isn't man enough to admit when he's wrong, Than he's no better than those we fight against. Jim... It's a matter of principles and you of all people should know this.

Ban me if you wish, but I had to speak my mind

It's most troubling to me that people who claim they want to return this country to its founding principles will again and again vote for people who have no intentions of doing that.

Yep like my good senator Bill Frist-R who gave Tennessee Governor Canidate Phil Bresden-D $2500 for his campaign. Bresdens opposition is Congressman Van Hilleary-R-TN an man with a Conservative record. How can anyone take a party serious who's leadership makes it a point to endorse Liberals? I'm a third party voter in a lot of cases but Van Hilleary will see my vote. Lamar Alexander-R for senator however will not. There I will vote Independent. The GOP had an excellent chance to fill Thompsons seat with a proven conservative and chose a long shot Moderate instead.

Things can change fast, and we can hope that they might, but realize that careful planning and consideration should always be called for. We got in this mess by jumping in blindly with ideology. Conservatism is about careful, measured study, not 'doing something, anything,' as a Hillary would have us all do.

It took almost a century, to get to where we are now, Those , who haven't the patience , go off the straight and narrow, cut off their noses to spite their faces. It's as simple as that.

Have you ever planted a tree ? Did you expect to look at it, a year or two later and see it at the height it will attain in 50 or 100 years ? Watching paint dry or grass grow , makes the waiter frustrated. Ditto for pots of water or a kettle. With enough real determination, things can and shall get better ; but, ONLY, if we can all work together, with a VIABLE candidate. The DEms know this . That's one thing, which Conservatives need to learn from them !

I agree with your post 100%.

If you can't speak your mind, what's the point? You didn't attack anyone, so I can't see any reason to punish you. But then........I can't keep up with the rules anymore.

But to limit myself to picking just a Republican or Democrat is just choosing between the lesser of two evils, and that my friend is no choice at all.

But why do "you people" then tear down our choice that won the election. Bush is not libertarian, you probably did not vote for him but he is the president. He will not be putting your agenda in - he is a compassionate conservative not an ultra right winger.

Does the fact your candidate did not get in mean that you never support the president or the country? Are you going to demonize him in concert with the democrats and win their battles for them?

Doesn't the president of the United States warrant some support since your candidate did not get in. Is there no understanding that he will not please you 100%?
