Giving priority to what is most important, I have decided to swallow my pride. I had a dustup with a moderator. I lost. Though I think the moderators need a tuneup they ain't so bad really. I depend on them to keep this site from becomming a free for all whacko hate site. I used to push the abuse button quite frequently on my fave undesirables ... anti-semite, haters. I notice they're a bit thin around here lately.
It is most important that Free Republic live and thrive. It is less important that I get things my way around here. Though I do not agree completely with the proposition that it is Jim's site and he can do with it what he damn will pleases ... It's as much our site, collectively, as it is his now. Perhaps Jim does ride herd a bit too hard on this creation he gave birth to. Fact is I don't know. I simply don't have enough information.
But it is a given that FR is the best there is at what it does. If it's only my morning paper and a place to exercise my verbal skills ... it's worth supporting. Now is the time for all level headed thinking FReepers to come to the aid of our wounded friend ... Free Republic.

Just exactly what are these changes going to be? Is it now policy as has been inferred that suspensions will be replaced with working it out in freepmail? Or is that just for "indispensable" freepers?
The Dems can bring me 48-52 % of the vote too, but you won't catch me voting for them either. ;)

it's actually pretty pathetic that a forum that boasts X0,000 'members' can't field

As for this comment, please re-direct it to those who need to hear it. I for one, do not (need to hear it) - as you know.
As for any future financial contribution from this household, I'll abstain until I see things improve - markedly. I'll base my assessment of how things have improved based on the forums return to its original mission statement. Nothing more, nothing less.
Given this problem has been building for over a year in my estimation, it's going to be a long haul to get this thing turned around. I sure hope the financial 'reserves' are there to carry the forum through.
Larry, all of us should be actively recruiting the 255,000,000 Americans who are not FReepers to our conservative cause. If we recruit enough of them, we will prevail.
You've got a long way to go to convince me that you and I (or anyone else here on FR) "agrees" to what the Conservative cause is. Given I and many others have been repeatedly trashed over the course of the last year for our traditional Conservative values by the neo-cons here on FR, I truly doubt I can be convinced.
I am not the one blackmailing the site with my contribution.
