How embarrassing is that? Being sort of a country boy, when I hear "pig", I think "baby". They must mean a grown up pig, either a hog or a sow.

If a hog or sow (especially a sow) is mad, you better run, or have a large club handy.

Walters had heard of pigs attacking people in the woods but said this was the first time he had heard of a pig going into a house and attacking someone.

Oh, yeah? Anyone remember Grapes of Wrath, where the pig got in the house and "et the baby?" That image always gave me the willies and I figured it must've been based on an actual incident -- or two. Here, I imagine, the pig smelled all that yummy fish and attacked the fool who challenged him.
