I know it bumps up the electric bill, but boy! I would almost kill to have AC this week-end. It's sickening.

I cannot take living witout the AC! It comes on in April or May and stays on until the temp drops enough to open the windows.
Last week our AC went out, late on Friday afternoon no less... so to get a guy out to fix it I had to pay overtime and I was glad to do it (sort of) since I couldn't bear the thought of waiting till Monday to get someone out.
Turns out it was a simple belt had broken, available at the local hardware store for less than $10. The repair cost me $125! Oh well, gotta stay cool!

I hope you get your A/C fixed soon, She-it is really worth the money to run the thing, since most modern houses have not been designed for cross ventilation, aided by fans. Our present house certainly isn't, but I took great care to design our new one that way to save money and aggravation, plus it is cooler in the hills 25 miles from the city. The trade-out is that it is a lot colder in the winter, and the roads get too icy to drive on more often-oh, dear, I will have to work from home on the computer more often, damn... But I love winter-summer is not my favorite season.
