Try to be patient. In Indiana now for any dealings with the motor vehicle dept. you must produce FOUR pieces of ID, including a photo ID. It is supposedly a security thing but somehow I think it a bit excessive. Most older folks are having trouble with this...no photo ID and few credit cards. One requirement is that you bring in a paycheck stub or a bill with your name and address on it. (!)
Of course, you can register plates by mail still, so I am a bit confused about this. I think mostly it is for driver's licenses.
Extra, but reasonable id's, I can understand, especially now..
My bad memories concern long lines, strange office hours, calling to get info, and getting the wrong info, or not asking PRECISELY the PERFECT question, and so not getting the right info!
