A big business for the locals is guide services. This time of year the place is packed with tourists who come here to climb the peaks. The Huascaran trip takes about 6-days to do both peaks.

A lot of europeans come here to climb and stay. There are a bunch in Huaraz, the nearest big town, and they own hotels, resturants and do guide stuff.
