SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) --A San Diego jury began deliberations Thursday in the trial of David Westerfield, accused of kidnapping and killing 7-year-old Danielle van Dam.

The panel of six men and six women adjourned for the day without reaching a verdict. It is set to resume deliberations Friday.

Read the transcripts. All of them. Watkins and Lawson both testified that they couldn't give a definitive answer whether the girls were underage or not. The rape was an anime. The supremes say it's legal. It was also downloaded by Neal.

So try actually reading the transcripts and not listening to Nancy Grace.

I thought I read that the rape stuff was Japanese cartoons (anime), collectible more as a bizarre window into a dark corner of a foreign culture than as "wank material". Cartoons, by definition, cannot be kiddie porn. Didn't the Supremes so rule recently?

Wasn't the vast majority of his collection (99+%) normal adults with big tits?

The porn evidence comes across less as incriminating than as an unethical attempt to bolster a weak and incomplete murder case with irrelevant accusations.

Gee Greg, are you unable to read? Van Dam's cover-ups included; steam cleaning, carpet replacement, interior painting, vacuuming and throwing away the bag, disposal of the dog bed, selling of the van, trip to desert on 16th (despite LE warning not to), lies to LE... yada, yada, yada.

Feldman was prohibited from asking these questions at trial by Mudd. God forbid that testimony be admitted by the defense which reflected poorly on the VanDam. It could have shed light on the path LE should have taken.

As to being hired by DW... don't think it would have happened... he got the best for what he needed.
