SAN DIEGO, California (CNN) --A San Diego jury began deliberations Thursday in the trial of David Westerfield, accused of kidnapping and killing 7-year-old Danielle van Dam.
The panel of six men and six women adjourned for the day without reaching a verdict. It is set to resume deliberations Friday.

"She wore it to court."
HAHAHAHA!! I guess the jury has seen it then.
And the judge hasn't seen all of BVD's sweater
wardrobe! ROTFL!
To: Neenah; John Jamieson
No, Neenah, I am not brilliant. My posts are but parroting what very intelligent people have figured out as they have patiently plodded along with this trial. I still get amused when I think that one of those posters ~REALLY IS~ a rocket scientist! LOL
To: Greg Weston; fiddlesticks
No. I'll vote him not guilty because of the reasonable doubt. And for you, amen cornering some a$$hole that would lock up a jurror because their verdict in a court trial does'nt meet their approval? Or because some how having opinion that allows for the possibility of DW's being not guilty, some how aids and abets? Sorry, I can't sign on to your lynch mob. OTOH, give me one of his hairs in Danielle's room and a tire track at Dehesa, I'm tying the rope to a tree for you
The TIPS program obviously has some good candidates on this board to come up the names of undesirables for re education or "disappearence". I would even grant a fair hearing to some one as full of rage as you and fsticks if I was your jurror, but its OK to have Kangaroo Courts for some on that has little direct evidence against them and significant excupatory evidence for, just because of the charge and the efforts of our infallible LE. Welcome to Bulgaria, 1985 folks. Pathetic.

You tell me why the Van Dams have steam cleaned their carpet, replaced carpets, painted interior walls, vacuumed immediately and changed vacuum bag, threw away the dog bed, hired a Civil atty and PR firm IMMEDIATELY, talked about Danielle in the past tense at press conferences, lied to LE, the list goes on and on and on.
That enough infor for you Greg? Or do you preferred the argument, "his hose was unrolled?"

AND........Lest we forget.......Got rid
of that BLUE/BLUE VAN DAMNIT!!!!!
To: kayti
Don't waste your time replying to him. He and his friends like to play games and come on here and cause trouble. He doesn't have any facts to back up his comments, just flaming junk. They are in a much different class than people who have been here from the beginning and still think Westerfield is guilty. Again .. IGNORE DISRUPTORS. It just makes your blood boil for nothing. :0)

Feldman referred to her orange sweater the day after she wore it to court. He was questioning one of the fiber people. Dusek and Mudd both screamed loudly. Feldman had to make a hypothetical about it I think. It's in the transcripts. Just another VD "in your face moment"!

Yeah, and didn't you just love it when GRACEful took all of the Van Damn's cleaning up evidence and said it was Westerfield who did all of that cleaning - when he still had dust over everything instead of spit and polish?!
Would just like to remind everybody of something somebody asked ... what layer in the drain was Danielle's hair? Were there hairs and other stuff on top of it (to indicate a longer time period than just recently)?
To: Jrabbit
Did anyone see the news of the arrests today of the child porn ring out of CaYes, there is a 10th unidentidied person. Westerfield ? Van Damm ? Any reason the names were sealed until the day after the jury got the trial ? Coincidence ?
To: Jrabbit
Okay, so the judge knows she *does* have an orange
sweater, yet he chose to testify during Feldman's
closing that "It's red", knowing there is a great
possibility of the orange one.
I'm really thinking Mudd should roll with the pigs.
(pigs & mud.)

We're sure thinking alike on that one!
To: VRWC_minion
David Westerfield has been in JAIL since February 22, at approximately 11:00 am. All of his computers are in the possession of LE. Seems very unlikely it's his. Do the math.

I'll bet Van Damnits are sweating a bit today
themselves & I doubt it's all that hot in SD.
To: All; Jaded
I gotta go lay down, y'all. Wore me out going to the doctor today. See you later. In the meantime, I will be praying our Special Prayer for Westerfield. (Jaded suggested I print it out like she did and paste it to the computer. Good idea!)
To: crypt2k
Besides, don't ya know, it's not "sinister" when the van damnits were "overly cooperative" with LE, but it's very
"sinsiter" when DW was "overly cooperative."
To: All
Quite spirited! Have you folks gone through each of the forensic environments using the jury instruction regarding circumstantial evidence to winnow down the evidence and possibly breaking the links between each environment? If I were on the jury, I would like to go through each piece of evidence.
Environments:
Van Dam house any evidence? Does this break a link in crime path, actually the genesis of any linkage?
Westerfield house what evidence can be excluded here:
Orange fibers no source
DvD hair Locart Exchange from BvD dancing, girl scout cookie sale, LE?,
Layla hair - Locart Exchange from BvD dancing, girl scout cookie sale, LE?,
Blood here?
Did blue fibers have a source?
Westerfield SUV exclude orange fibers (no source). Does this break the link to MH at Shermans?
Orange fibers no source
DvD hair why not here?
Layla hair why not here?
Blood here? If not, why not?
Did blue fibers have a source?
Westerfield MH - what evidence can be excluded here?
Orange fibers no source
DvD hair Locart Exchange
Layla hair - Locart Exchange
Blood on carpet and DW jacket how is this explained (as fact)???
Did blue fibers have a source?
Dvd fingerprint reasonable to think Dvd wandered into MH prior?
Dehesha Road - what evidence can be excluded here?
Orange fibers no source
Did blue fibers have a source?
Insert forensic entomologist testimony here is their testimony enough to break this link?
I apologize if I left things out. Please add, delete, modify at will. Just meant as a stepping-stone.
To: JudyB1938
Were there hairs and other stuff on top of it (to indicate a longer time period than just recently)? One indication is that the DNA from hair degrades when in contact with water.
To: the Deejay
Actually, we are having a Santa Ana here today.
