We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Quick start this morning. I apologize for starting late today - the backup job I was running took longer than expected.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Besides my normal ironing and polishing this morning, I'm also packing for a quick trip home. I'll be driving out tonight after class. I should be home by 3AM on Saturday. I'm hoping I can stay awake thoughout the drive. I would hate to miss anything (like my exit).

You MUST stay awake!...Trill wouldn't appreciate it if you didn't.

Keep it very cold in the car.....drink LOTS of coffee....play the radio & sing!!.......

...and slap yourself cross the side of the head a few times!!!!

LOL! Maybe not. I'm sure I can stay awake for the trip. I'm hoping for better traffic condidtions since it will be so late, and maybe cut the drive to 4 hours.

Bratling's fever broke at 5 this morning, according to Trill, but she's got a nasty cough.

Guen, belated answer to your early morning question.

The CAT is normally sooo smooth that you shouldn't have any trouble with "sea" sickness. We had a fairly rough ride the night I came across from NS to Bar Harbor, but no one on the CAT seemed to be affected.

Mark Steyn: Pencil in Iraq for this August

An excerpt: "This doesn't entirely square with the other reported development of the week -- that al-Qaeda is now being run by Osama's 20-year old son, Scott bin Laden. No, hang on a minute, Scott's the name of Dr. Evil's son. If you've seen Goldmember, you'll know that Scott does indeed wind up taking over his dad's evil operation. It couldn't be that al-Qaeda have been reduced to taking inspiration from Austin Powers, could it? Anyway, just for the record, Osama bin Evil's son is called Saad, and I'd be saad if I found out I'd inherited a business whose principal asset was the executive latrine at Sub-Basement Level 14 in Tora Bora."

Yes, as a matter of fact, I was just travelling on the same freeway, a few miles south of the standoff when I picked my daughter up from soccer practice.

The latest I heard was that he is a former police officer (kicked off the force) who shot and killed his wife in the Columbus area, took their 3 children and headed north, dropped them off at a Convenience store in Morrow County where he stole a Sheriff's SUV and drove to the Rest stop north of route 30.

The stand off was there. He ran away from the car, and was shot and wounded by police (at least that is what has been reported) and taken to the hospital (where my husband is an administrator).

I haven't heard any more than that, but can update you when I do. It's a huge story locally.

This is to all of you ......

We're leaving shortly ..... probably won't get back on-line until Monday night. We'll come home Sunday night but this trip is coming at the worst time for us ..... invoices, payroll, etc. ...... so Monday will be frantic.

Don't have time to say all the things I want to say to each of you but know that you're each in my prayers for your special needs, wants, concerns, and desires.

Jemian ~~~ Extra special prayers for you!

Lorena ~~~ a million hugs for you, sweetie! Thanks!

Hope I'm not hogging the bandwidth here, but this is here's a pic in his uniform before he left. You can't see that he still had hair here, but he did! LOL!

John, he doesn't come home after he graduates. We see him for exactly 24 hours, and then he heads to Ft. Lee, Virginia for AIT. Sigh......

How long is his AIT? He should be able to come home on leave either during or after his training.

I understand your frustration. I will be home from training for about a week, and then headed to Korea for two weeks. Not much time at home for the next month and a half.

His AIT lasts until November, and he'll be home then. I'm not sure if he can get any weekend passes then, but he'll be in Virginia, and he's a Civil War addict, so it's possible that he'd rather go to some battlefields than come home! LOL!

Since he's in the Reserves, he'll be going to college, but considering how much he loves this, he may be checking out West Point. I'm guessing he'd get in.

Afternoon, all! Great work stories today. I was supposed to have new code last night at 5 pm to test. Then it was 9 pm. So I came into work very early, only to find out it would be 9 am. Then 12 noon. Now, sometime this afternoon. Only, I finally got smart. I bought tickets to the Utah Symphony Summer Series several weeks ago, and the Mozart concert is...this evening at 7:30pm. I must be gone from work by 5 pm at the very latest to meet my friend so we won't be late. Ha!

You should have seen the look on my boss's face when I told him I couldn't work tonight (and cover two other people who are off today, which I don't mind doing, except that I have worked the last FOUR Friday nights.)

Now that I am done chortling, I also just bought season Utah Symphony tickets, which means 3-4 nights a month, I will be getting culturized. :) I am very excited, Van Cliburn is in concert, along with several other performers whom I have never heard play.

Hey, those teeth cost us $3,000! He'd better keep them!

He's looking forward to crawling on the ground under live ammo. If he doesn't keep down, it's not his teeth I'm worried about!
